Jade_Monkey Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 (edited) Hi everyone, My Windows 10 creators update went through (unsolicited) and it broke the saitek profile functionality. The saitek software crashes when it starts up. Anyone having similar issues? any workarounds? Thanks, -JM Edited April 17, 2017 by Jade_Monkey
beepee Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 I am using an X-52 and Combat Pedals. After that last Win 10 update the X52 is not recognised at all (even after trying to re-install the drivers). The pedals are fine. Thanks Microsoft-ons.
DD_Arthur Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 I lost administrator rights and TrackIr refused to work. Goodbye Creators update!
beepee Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Thanks for the idea mate. I rolled back to the previous version of windoze and Bob's your uncle, it all works fine again. FYI if you set your connection to a metered connection windoze will not auto-update.
beepee Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 You are lucky Elem. The creators update kept sending me notifications to restart. I thought "Well,I have installed the latest Saitek drivers...What could possibly go wrong?" And we are back to square one. It has uninstalled my X52 drivers and when I try installing them it won't allow me to. Fuck you Microsoft.

beepee Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 It was not by choice. It was before I had set my connection to metered. Win 10 updates itself. Guess I will roll it back again and try and find a way to get rid of the update.
dburne Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) Well Windows is finally pushing this Creators Update out to me now. So if you guys don't hear from me for a while lol... I will certainly be keeping my fingers crossed! Edit: Well this is weird. Had the message yesterday that it had gathered all info and was prompting to update, I selected to do so this morning at 8:00 am. Has not updated. When I select to shutdown and it gives me my options, I get an update and restart option as well as an update and shut down option. However when selecting those, the system just restarts or shuts down without doing any update. I guess when MS decided to finish pushing this to me I will eventually get it LOL. On with flying in the meantime! Edited May 12, 2017 by dburne
dburne Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Well after waiting I while I finally went into updates and security and found an option in there , apparently I had scheduled it for this evening rather than this morning. So anyway it gave me the option to go ahead and install which I did, so it has just finished and so far things look ok but it is really early to say as well...
DarkHelmet Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Jade_Monkey, I've the same probs with my X-55 and the HUD software.Today, I've found this here: https://community.logitech.com/s/question/0D53100006qP6XbCAK/solved-saitek-support-windows-10-creators-update-has-chuffed-saitek-profiler I'll give it a try over the weekend.Cheers Dark
Jade_Monkey Posted July 21, 2017 Author Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the response. I ended up getting rid of the saitek software and it was a huge "upgrade" for me. No more headaches, no more macros getting stuck when the rotaries arent centered. I'mm very happy with just mapping through the game. Edited July 21, 2017 by Jade_Monkey
Albino Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I am aware that this isn't a helpful comment, though post creators update my X52 is performing better than before. Some axis that weren't reading their full range correctly are now functioning properly I'mm very happy with just mapping through the game. Jade_Monkey, do you have enough functionality on your X55? I would like to use the alternate mode selector on my X52 to provide two alternate functions for each of my buttons, but am not aware whether this can be done with in game mapping.
Sokol1 Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 To use X-52 mode selector direct in games controls will be need that this game has something similar to DCSW "Switches" - permanent modifiers, and that this mode selector can be see in Windows/games as buttons.

I have asked if they would consider adding this ability in the questions to developers thread, and also put it in suggestions to the developers thread. I would so love it if they would simply add the ability to assign a joystick button as a modifier ( button held) or switch. It would greatly expand the number of commands we could assign to buttons from within the game GUI.

The mode selector NEEDS the Saitek software. Im pretty sure it's a decision by Saitek and nothing to do with the game. I don't think windows recognizes the modes as a key in the first place. beepee Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 So I had this issue again after letting WIndoze 10 update. I went to Logitech and grabbed the latest X52 drivers. I then found out on trying to install them that it would not recognize the USB connection. After much trial and error I discovered that I needed to go into the device manager, right click on the X52 (under "Human Interface Devices"), click "update drivers" , then "browse my computer" and "let me pick" and select the generic "USB input Device" and hit the next button. And it worked.
Steambat Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 MF-Beepee - thanks for this. Just spent the last two days trying to get this sorted. Should have came here first and saved myself a load of work! So far this has worked - just have an issue when loading a profile my mouse/keyboard goes crazy and types continous -+ ! Thanks again!
