Trooper117 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I have finally moved into my new house... 5 months of waiting with everything in storage, unable to play my favourite flight sims. my god, I was like a cat on a hot tin roof, setting up my HOTAS and trackir... only to find? The damn GTX780 proplem still persists and I still can't fly the flippin game? I am presently fuming and speechless...

Until the problem with new drivers is solved, install 368.81 driver, which is the last one that works fine. Do a clean install... Edited April 17, 2017 by ST_ami7b5
Trooper117 Posted April 18, 2017 Author Posted April 18, 2017 Yes mate, will give them a go.... still can't believe it though. I come to play the game after all those months and still no forward movement. I really feel like grabbing something by the throat and asking ... why, eh? Why? (cat and dog diving for cover)
BlitzPig_EL Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) It's because Nvidia has bigger fish to fry, basically. They want everyone to be on board with the new 1000 series cards, and their support staff are far busier keeping the "big name" games/publishers happy. It's all about the numbers. I come to play the game after all those months and still no forward movement. I really feel like grabbing something by the throat and asking ... why, eh? Why? (cat and dog diving for cover) The game itself is moving forward but nVidia apparently has dropped the ball here by breaking something in their more recent drivers. Very frustrating no doubt. I'd be wanting to throw something against a wall... maybe the GPU and then buying a new one :D 1
Trooper117 Posted April 18, 2017 Author Posted April 18, 2017 I know, frustrating isn't the word All my other sims and games work brilliantly with the 780... absolutely no problem... that's why I don't want to by a new series card.
Trooper117 Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 Tried several sets of drivers... all to no avail I think the most time I achieved flying was around 3 to 4 mins before the game froze.
Jade_Monkey Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Google "Display driver uninstaller". Download from guru3d. Follow instructions and do a clean uninstall (safe boot and all). Before you do this have the 368.81 drivers already downloaded and ready to be installed.
Dutchvdm Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Pm me if you want my old 980 for a small price. I wanted to use it in my second system but it's to big.. Grt M
Jade_Monkey Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Ha! Same here, I'm selling my used GTX980Tis (two of them).
dburne Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Trooper, I have an EVGA GTX 970 FTW. PM me if you think you might have interest.
Trooper117 Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Thanks guys, I'll give it some thought... I'm no longer working so buying stuff has to go into priorities now. ( for instance, no more SKY TV, a luxury I can no longer afford, lol!)
ST_ami7b5 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 (edited) Tried several sets of drivers... all to no avail I think the most time I achieved flying was around 3 to 4 mins before the game froze. With 368.81 my BoX runs for hours, no prob. If you are on W10 check the driver version (I use nvidia inspector for that) before you start the game, because W10 will automatically download and install the newest driver. However, I have found out recently that you can avoid that if you do a clean install of 368.81 and let it install also NVidia Geforce Experience. In that case GE only notifies you that there is a new driver available, but it won't be installed automatically. Edited April 20, 2017 by ST_ami7b5 1
