HagarTheHorrible Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 (edited) As with most jobs, they eventually start to become formulaic, repetitive and mundane, even with the best will in the world it's not always easy to retain the excitement and passion that inspired the first days. Do you think the Developers are as excited about Il2 BoX VR as those of us who have tried it and love it ? That/s four patches in the space of a week. It seems a few previously jaded fliers have returned to playing BoX, do you maybe think that it's also put a little bit of a spring into the step and reinvigorated the passion of the dev team as well, excited about the prospects for the future of flight sims and Il2 in particular with the advent of VR ? I sure hope so, it should. I myself am going to go ahead and purchase the Yak and JU-52 collector planes probably today, to show my support and thanks for bringing this sim to VR. And I likely will never fly the JU-52 either.

Hah, you read my mind. Now that VR's out I'm gonna be picking up BoK.
Lusekofte Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 (edited) To me a flight sim is so much more than VR , but I am happy for the enthusiasm it gives. For me the biggest issue with VR is the problem reading the dials in DCS , I need a better resolution than VR provides today. Hope one day a 2. gen type come out and I by then got a new rig Edited April 17, 2017 by 216th_LuseKofte
OrLoK Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 BoK is my next software purchace. As to the devs, well to do what they do, they must be hugely passionate about it. I hope the rise in intrest (and profit) is a boost to them as we customers can be hard work on occasion. implementing VR opens up a whole new customer base for them, i hope folk buy in!
Thad Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I have already purchased all they have offered and from the main site. I've done all I can. 1
dburne Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Just purchased the JU-52 and YaK-B collector planes , so I have everything now as well. 1
Freycinet Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 In a developers' update some months ago they talked about their excitement at trying VR.

OrLoK Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I was so excited I didnt buy BoK rather I bought screen recording software so I could show off how groovy VR is in BoK. A small contribution I know, Im no trendy Tuber, but Ive got a few folk interested and thats what counts. BoK can be next month!
Phantom-103 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Things are a bit tight at the moment [Wife lost her job in January] but as soon as we get back on schedule and have a couple extra $$ I will purchase the collector aircraft.
Rjel Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Just purchased the JU-52 and YaK-B collector planes , so I have everything now as well. I hope you won't take this wrong, but I've seen almost a complete 180 in your comments over the last several months. For a while you seemed very disappointed and vocally so in this sim. It's a positive to have you and others spreading the word here and on other sites now. It benefits everyone.

No worries, yes I was very vocal previously but I am just as vocal and passionate now about all the good that the BoX series has going for it. It started with the changes in direction and then followed up with the VR implementation at just the right time for me, having got my Rift in January of this year. So it all came together very nicely, and now this sim and franchise is my number 1 go to once again. For me and what I look for in this genre, they made all the right moves. I am extremely excited about the upcoming Career mode. And I gladly have been spreading the word everywhere I can.
