HagarTheHorrible Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) It has ever been thus , yes RoF I'm looking at you as well, but for the love of God is it really so difficult to have separate A.I routines for bomber formations ? I appreciate A.I routines have been tweaked of late but I still find myself chasing a conger line of bombers flapping around in circles until something happens to them, or me. Maybe I'm missing something (Obvious) but pretty much every flight sim, since time began, has managed to have bombers flown by bomber pilots and not wanna be fighter jocks or cut and run numpties. Why can't I attack a formation of bombers that either form or stay in a proper defensive formation that don't end up playing chase me chase me games with the formation leader. Even novice bomber pilots should as a basic part of their training be able to form and hold a proper defensive formation like a close "V" without it all going to pot at the first sign of a husky Ruski. Yogiflight Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) It is really a pity in this game, but it is part of the setting of the one who creates the mission. Try Juri's 'Platzschutzstaffel Pitomnik', here you can attack perfectly flying bomberformations. It is a lot of fun, to see it working. Another negative point is, that the bombers, at least the Pe2s, are turning with their bombs still on board, as good as you in your fighter, which surely is not even near realism. And another thing, I noticed, is that only one bomber, I suppose the leader, drops his bombs, the other bombers take their bombs back home. And in the campaign missions, it is nice, that there were bombers included, that attack your airfield, when you RTB, but why do they, always, only attack the searchlights at the start of the runway?
