"Feel" of CH Pro vs. Saitek Pro Throttle Quadrant

Recommended Posts

So, I just received this:

http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/quad.html

I like the modularity and configurability of it, allowing for placement of two side-by-side or stacked or just one if all you need is three.

But NOT wild about the feel of the levers --- flimsy --- and the movement --- like a toys 'r us slot machine for ages 6 or under.

Anyone who has had both have insight into how the CH Pro compares? Is there more resistance/friction to the movement?

Thanks!

Saitek Modularity and Configurality are the only qualities that Saitek have over CH. Saitek Components are cheaper and the pots they use get dirty faster resulting in spikes. Let me put it that way. CH quality side are like Zippo lighters Saitek ones more like BIC'S ... they started to give you trouble you throw them away and buy another. I have 2 Saitek TQ one is still working fine with a little bit of spikes the other one have a defective axis and switches. The feeling of the Saitek TQ overall is good but still cheap and it shows. Another thing Saiteks have more travel for the levers than the CH ones. As for resistance I found the CH to to have a little more.

It is easy to increase throw/travel on CH since caps are removable and hence, extendable.

I am very happy with CH quality, and I owned most of their units, some still in use...

Thanks all.

Just got the CH Pro Throttle quadrant for comparison.

Definitely a step up from Saitek in feel! Nice resistance to the levers.

However, that Saitek is so fantastically designed in so many other respects, though. So much careful thought has been put into its mounting options --- I keep discovering new features that make it so flexible.

But, at the end of the day, quality wins out, and so the CH is a keeper and the Saitek is going back.
