raa23 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Anyone using GTX 980? Does the game run smooth? Also, how is the multiplayer population?
DDSSTT Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I cannot speak on Multiplayer because I have played yet, but I am using a EVGA GTX 780 Ti and it runs great!
RustNeverSleeps Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Anyone using GTX 980? Does the game run smooth? Also, how is the multiplayer population? It is very well optimized compared to other sims so I don't think you will struggle. However, you may need to turn the HUD off to keep FPS at 90 (as VR needs). Multiplayer population is decent. The main server typically has 50+ people in it.
Rolling_Thunder Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I don't play MP but you will struggle. Spotting is an issue and if you play without icons you will be at a disadvantage. I would say you will get a fair idea of performance by asking questions but the thing about PC gaming is EVERYONE'S system is different. Not just hardware but background tasks too. Isn't there a website somewhere that will analyse ones system to see how VR will run? Maybe try that out first.
Daliaraptor Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Ive got a: asus gtx1070 oc a intel 6700 @ 4400 256 SSD Ram 16GB @ 3200 SteamVR SS @ 1.5 AA off Quality on Ultra Sharpening effect on (its great) And it plays ok... sometimes stutters... I guess the CPU is as much important as the GPU It will run with your 980 but i guess you have to lower some settings...
SevenFifty Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I have I7 4770k and GTX970 and have no problems, always at least 45FPS which is more than enough for rift with ASW enabled. Haven't tried MP yet. I also don't have issues with spotting or aircraft recognition, I don't think it's much harder then on monitor (at least from what I remember playing on monitor few years back).
