mga Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Hi, Now that VR is out (by the way, big thanks, I love it) probably the devs will take it easy for a while, but I was wondering is there somewhere a roadmap of things to come? What will be the "next big thing" ? Thanks. 1
dburne Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 (edited) Well they are working on the next installment - Battle of Kuban ready for pre-order now. And after that the Pacific has been announced. Edited April 13, 2017 by dburne
mrvile Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Really looking forward to Pacific content. American and Japanese planes, carrier ops, and a major change of scenery. Will have to be patient though, Pacific seems to be at least a year away.
coconut Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 There's a bunch of planes yet to come out, a new campaign system, a coop mode and of course the new map. That's all I can think from the top of my head. 1
mga Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Sorry, I should have been more clear. I know that BOK is next, but I was wondering if there are more details. Like will the new campaign system be out next or the map for BOK? I meant smaller milestones rather than big projects. Thanks.

I wrote a blog post about this a while back and largely its still accurate: https://stormbirds.wordpress.com/2016/12/07/battle-of-kuban-what-content-is-coming-and-when/ Jason let us know back when we had the last Q&A what would be coming roughly and when. The IL-2 Model 1943 is next on the list with the Spitfire Vb after that (I've speculated they will arrive in the same patch). By July we may have access to the Kuban map with the new career system beta offering coming by October. 2
mga Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Perfect, that is exactly what I was looking for, ShamrockOneFive, thank you!
Albino Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Shamrock's blog is great. Thanks for your work in keeping us updated mate
ShamrockOneFive Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Cheers guys! I write as much as I have time to and whenever new things come up. Always appreciate the positive comments but also any feedback. 1
CF-105 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Even though the Pacific is still probably a year+ out, I'm really wondering when we'd start to see the first aircraft from that theater. I don't care if the closest thing to the ocean we had was the Volga (let alone the Black Sea)!
Finkeren Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Next update in May should bring us the IL-2M and possibly the Spitfire mk. Vb and perhaps the new modeling of rudder forces. After that there should be a hiatus in new planes getting released over the summer and instead we'll get the Kuban map and the first rendition of the new career mode. In the fall and early winter they'll release the remaining four planes and finalise the career mode and by December BoK will be complete.
Quax Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 (edited) I thought, the rudder fix for all planes is next DD153: While our VR implementation is going according to the plan, we have good news from the engineering department and its head AnPetrovich for you. As we mentioned earlier, we decided to spend a huge chunk of time on flight model corrections and improvements on a very important and big task - improving the aircraft reaction to rudder inputs. This is a very complex task since FMs in our project has many physical interconnections which weren't supposed to be altered - when you change any one parameter it affects many things you never planned to change or sometimes even expected to change. The challenge for us was the fact that we attempted to solve this issue several times, but we finally found the real physical cause for it and a possible way to fix it only in the end of the last year. Since the solution for it requires fundamental changes to fuselage aerodynamics calculations, it means that we need to correct the aerodynamics of all the aircraft that exist in the game to this day. Therefore, a total revision of all stability and handling parameters of all aircraft in the game is happening right now. Of course, such significant and fundamental changes affect not only the way a rudder affects an aircraft, but many other things. Base flight characteristics like speed, climb rate, turn time, etc. won't change, but many others will. Here's the short list of improvements we all will benefit from when this task is completed: Edited April 15, 2017 by Quax
[7e]Forza42 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 clickable cockpit ? that s the main and major difference between IL2 and DCS ......and a big step forward for immersion. If you think it s not, that means you didn't try DCS BF109 or DCS Fw190 .... CLICKABLE COCKPIT! CLICKABLE COCKPIT CLICKABLE COCKPIT CLICKABLE COCKPIT oh ... and a real coop mode for mp mission .... without any hack .... COOP!
CanadaOne Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 A more robust/lively Quick Mission generator, would be lovely. 1

Rjel Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Coop is coming. Clickpits are not. Not ever. Not that I want clickable cockpits in this sim (I really don't) and I doubt it'll happen, but this team proves over and over that never means never means little. They continue to do the unexpected over and over. Do it well and do it quickly. 1

Professor1942 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I find the 'clickpit' in Cliffs of Dover to just be an annoyance and not a desirable/valuable feature at all.
Jason_Williams Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I want to remind everyone that we are only going to the Pacific is we can afford it and we have a path forward. As for the immediate future we are continuing to produce what we listed when we announced Kuban. Every step forward we take is difficult. We need more users to buy more content or the train will come to a stop. Jason 7

This is really top shelf stuff you guys are doing
[7e]Forza42 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Coop is coming ? GREAT! When you are talking about Pacific, are you talking about F4U Corsair too ???? O_O realllllllyyyy loved Pacific Fighters Addon ! I don t know how much how hours i passed on it!

If you think it s not, that means you didn't try DCS BF109 or DCS Fw190 .... I flew both modules, but never clicked a button. For me, this is the opposite of immersion. Trying to hit a button with VR needs lots of time and would drive me crazy.
Quax Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) We need more users to buy more content or the train will come to a stop. Jason I would try a VR version. Much less content (flyable planes) for a cheaper access, and a preset profile for the xbox controller (for the rift - utilising your mouse control tech)) and all assists checked on. For the Vive something similar (joystick 4-button) as a cheap "steam VR" offer. Edited April 16, 2017 by Quax
ShamrockOneFive Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Coop is coming ? GREAT! When you are talking about Pacific, are you talking about F4U Corsair too ???? O_O realllllllyyyy loved Pacific Fighters Addon ! I don t know how much how hours i passed on it! The next two scenarios mentioned by Jason back in the September announcement were Battle of Midway and then Battle of Okinawa. Although I can't be certain of course... I would assume that the F4U Corsair would be on the list. It's one of THE aircraft in that battle both as fighter defense of the fleets as well as heavily employed as a ground attacker against Japanese troops and bunkers in the various battles on Okinawa. I want to remind everyone that we are only going to the Pacific is we can afford it and we have a path forward. As for the immediate future we are continuing to produce what we listed when we announced Kuban. Every step forward we take is difficult. We need more users to buy more content or the train will come to a stop. Jason Bought everything you guys have offered and doing what I can to let people know about what's going on here and how good the series is. Hopefully you guys are seeing an uptick especially after the VR announcement.
