'Enable VR HMD' setting not being saved/being overwritten?

Every time I start up the game I have to go into settings and tick the 'Enable VR HMD' checkbox as it's unticked even if I played in VR last time.

 

The game then restarts and works in VR until I close the game down and reopen it, then the same thing again.

 

Is there a workaround such as making a config file read only, or is anyone else seeing this?

You can go to the startup.cfg file in the data folder

 

there you should see a setting OR_enabled (i think. I am currently reinstalling so can't check) but set that to 1

Steam user? Use the VR part of your library to launch il2. If i launch it through the normal "old" way it also reverted back to 2d.

 

I *think* the hotfix changed this.
