I am an avid Watcher of many more or less controversial Youtubers, mostly Secular  Left Wingers but also a lot of Gun Related Content. They are pretty much all demonetized and thus have to make their Money through mostly Patreon and other Donation Sites.

Of course this disfavours otherwise heard Voices.

What do you think of this attack of the Old Media on the New and the General Conflict of the Analog and Digital World.

This video is a good example of why most successful videos are only 4-5 minutes long.... ;)

I follow a lot of of the same stuff you do Klaus, and everyone seems to be hit more or less equally bad by this.

It's sad to be sure, but then again, I can't stop thinking, that when most of these youtubers started out, there were no adds on Youtube. Noone was making any money at all.

It was only a matter of time.

They've done the same thing with some political sites. They claim it's temporary as their algorithms adjust, but we all know its not true.

I have a Youtube channel, with more than half a million views, didnt know about advertising, but why not, it will help pay for the fuel of my airplane.

It doesnt bother me that much on others videos either.

Adblock - use it

That just means the content creators get even less money. It doesn't help at all.

It´s funny how they talk about the vids beeing "innapropriate for monetarization" (like most of mine are, recognized by an algorythm) and never about the adds not beeing inapropriate. Yesterday I got adds from some shady troll-faced YT channel that tries to sell gamehacks...

I only did the "monetarization" thing as an experiment and over the years never got any payment at all...  and it basically has confirmed all my suspicions: the view statistics get "corrected" even for things long in the past.. so when you make vids "unpublic" the 1 1/2 cent yt atributed to it for someone clickin on it a year ago, has suddently never happend etc.. I can only pitty the people doing yt as "a job"

The minimal amout you get payed by youtube is 100$. If you haven't earned 100$ yet, you wont get a payment.

I like it. Screw the mainstream.

Lower the barriers to entry. Let me decide what I want to see for news and entertainment.

I don't need to be fed. Let me walk the buffet line.

The more discussion, the more points of view, the more criticism, the better.

I have almost as many people claiming the right to monetize my content as I have viewers.   :)  They are welcome to it.....

I too watch many fringe and alternative news and opinion sites on YouTube. It's crystal clear that the fake old news and media that have lied to us for years are doing everything in their power to stifle and kill off any alternatives.

Lets look at MSM......at its best

Mika Brzezinski slips up

CNN helping Hillary

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc5p5mD08D4

The White Helmets "rescue" people

And what The MSN doesn't want you to hear.

You tube helped a lot of people with non mainstream views, but they are owned by people in the same circles with the ones, who run mainstream media. I always knew, that this new ways to make your voice heard, owned by billionaires, sooner or later are going to purge the content. It's all about controlling the narrative.

They are all rotten to the core.

Anyone relying on mainstream media for news this days is completely in Lala land.

BTW. Forgotten weapons was the first Youtube channel I subscribed to.  :hunter:

IT Does not..

thats a lie from the ads saying if you block the ads that content makers get less money.

They dont get paid for each person who watches the add.

They get paid a set amount wether 1 person watched the add or 1,000 people.
