Question for anyone using GTX 1080 SLI and HTC Vive

I am not a whiz when it comes to this stuff and pretty much bumble my way through it. I am running two GTX 1080s in SLI. The game graphics are maxed out at Ultra with all the boxes checked. I got 60-90 fps at 1920X1080 res with 60Hz refresh prior to VR. With the Vive, I got anything from 89 to 23 fps while in-flight, and I wasn't happy with the screen clarity. I messed around with the SSAO/HDR/AA settings but no single or combination removal of any of these made a difference in fps. So I increased supersampling to 2.0 and it looks much, much better, with fps in the 30s.

My question is this - I want to keep supersampling where it is, but are there any crucial settings in the game or NVIDIA control panel I can adjust to improve the situation? I have read that VR doesn't even support SLI configurations; for all I know I'm only using one GPU. Any help is appreciated.

I'm flying with a single 1080Ti, High settings (4xAA), with 1.5SS and I stay locked on 90fps while fighting a single AI on a summer map at altitudes of 500-1500m with clouds.

Something doesn't seem right with your setup. Maybe try High settings?

Are your GPU clocks maxed out? Check them out with GPU-Z while running the game.

I downloaded GPU-Z and checked it out with IL-2 running in a custom mission with a JU-88 on autolevel flying at 2500m above 15 ground targets. 1st GPU was showing 68-82% load and clock in the 1800 mhz range and the 2nd GPU only at 3% load with the clock in the 1600 mhz range. Looks to me like only one GPU is being used.

Have you try to physically remove one card and try it first with just one card? It should go quite well with just one 1080

Im assuming you have the HUD off. I have the 1080ti and getting 90fps in Wings of Liberty on Balanced with NO AA and 1.5 SS and Hud off.

Something still very wrong there..

1080Ti should be getting around 90 fps on ULTRA @ 4K (1.5x SSampling = 4K)
With no AA obviously and HUD ON..

Without Vive/OR FPS Lock the above settings should be pulling 120-160 fps on 1080Ti with good CPU.

Unless all the marketing is purely Bullcrud..
For price 1080Ti should have atleast Triple the FPS of 1060
