What is yours set to, as low as possible or default monitor resolution ?

Note to Dev's, CAP2 has an option to turn off the monitor image entirely.

Mine is set to default, as I understand it that is the ideal situation.

Windowed or full screen ?

I still have a triple monitor setup in front of me which if I use the proper screen resolution would be 5040 x 1050.  That seems a little excessive.

Even with triple screen setup you can set resolution in the game to 1680x1050 and fullscreen. Windows will turn off side monitors and display BoS on the centre one.

I used to have three screens till I bought Rift.

The patch notes say to lower the resolution to not waste resources displaying the second image. So now I'm confused, maybe different VR games handle the monitor display differently because I thought it was just a mirror output from one eye of the HMD. No other rendering was necessary to output to the monitor simultaneously. But since you can change the resolution in IL2 that must mean it is a separate render, and therefore the advice in the patch notes makes sense.

Hmm you are absolutely right I must have missed that in reading the patch notes, I will have to give that a try and see if I notice any performance gains.

Thanks,

was I the only one reading the notes carefully before playing??? :o:

I set from the beginning the resolution to the minimum, which is my case is 1024x768 for my 4K monitor.

I don´t think it is rendered again since it is the view of one eye, but according to the notes, "the game will spend less time drawing its window on the monitor".

So, less pixels to be dump to the screen memory.

I have not measured this impact, but since nobody else looks the screen (just my kids around) there is no reason to max it out.
