Perhaps update FAQ on steam keys?

Hi,  I just came over here as I heard about the VR update so I purchased on the il2 site as it said all $$ goes to devs.   I do like all my games on steam when I can as it makes them easy to manage so I had a quick look at the FAQ prior and it said what I had to do to get a steam key.

Not unlike other games where I have sone the same thing. So I went ahead and bought from here rather than steam

Unfortunately as soon as I purchased I followed the instructions and I was told for the first time that you cant transfer to steam unless you were a pre-order.

Given it doesnt say that in the faq perhaps it could be made more clear that if you buy from the il2 site you cannot get a steam key.

Thanks!

I did the same thing.

I purchased BoS from the IL2 website, thinking that I would be able to get a Steam key since it says you can in the FAQ.

As soon as I clicked "get Steam key" it tells me that I can't.

But if you buy the game on Steam, it's very easy to get a non-Steam key.

Not the end of the world but I do like to have my games on Steam for metrics and social. I should have just picked it up on Steam so I could get both keys. Too late now. Sucks for those of us who want to support the devs but like using Steam.

I bought BoS on steam for the same reasons then bought everything else on the il2 store to support the devs! :)

its actually the only game i have ever "supported" (at least deliberately) and bought everything it has to offer. this team/studio really cares and communicates with their audience and that makes me feel confident in that theyll keep on doing a great job.
