HagarTheHorrible Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 I think the headrest boundary is too close to the head. I get constant bump noises when looking left, 70-80 deg, sometimes right, but if I lean forward slightly then the issue is resolved. It would be super interesting to know how the boundaries are set and defined.
=IL2AU=chappyj Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 The sound needs to be removed completely It actually breaks the immersion currently in all the air frames I've tried
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Jason has said they worked the boundaries out as far as they could. I get the same bump noises too. It would be nice if they had a setting to just turn the bump noise off but keep the limitations where they are (because they can't go out anymore).
=IL2AU=chappyj Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 (edited) the limitations are actually more restrictive than track ir and IRL. The collider seems to be based on a point on the front of the HMD. ... ie about 4-6 inches further out than your virtual forehead. Its actually a disadvantage right now. and yeah quite frankly the perception of some unnatural advantage by walking outside your aircraft is... well... overblown. Try flying a fighter while leaning out far enough to actually see anything useful.. its a self defeating action. Edited April 14, 2017 by =WFPK=chappyj

I agree that the perceived advantage from being able to pop your head outside the canopy is a little (actually a lot) over egged. For me it's more the immersion breaker of having my view half in, half out of the canopy as I rapidly look around, left to right and back again.
