Forum Decorations

Hey Guys,

Sorry to ask this. ;) I feel nerd.

I see everybody have their decorations just below their avatar next to their posts. IL2, BOS, BOM, BOK. How do we achieve them.

I am using the Steam version of BOS, BOM

Those are for people who preordered the different titles and thus helped financering development before anything was out yet.

You can still get the BoK bar, if you preorder BoK now.

I'd like an option to turn them off to be honest. A lot of folk have the opinion that if a poster doesn't have a full set their opinion is somehow irrelevant.

Interestingly revisionist.

The argument is made is that those of us that have all three have been here for nearly every shitstorm the revamped series has been through - Siggi, unlocks, the tremendously bad SP campaign, Loft's PR, Zak's PR, paid reviews, the Metacritic brigade fiasco, etc, etc. Factually speaking, it is generally people that have been here for less than a year (often times less than 6 months - even more often less than 3 months) trying to tell us how the team operates, what their "propagandist" motives are, how the product was/is and that our being here for the evolution of the product is the irrelevant bit.

Salutations,

Why do you apparently care so much about others opinion or what others think of your opinion?. Do worry about it. Live life.... go fly. Watch your six.

Revisionist? I could point you in the direction of a lot of posts that will validate what I've said. How many can you show that will validate your sense of being under appreciated? Where's the facts? Show me the facts.

"Propagandist" holy cow

I don't care who has what or who has been here for the "evolution" what bothers me is you, and folk like you, who think because some folk have no labels below their name that their opinion matters less than yours because you have labels. It's pathetic and in no way helps the growth of the player base. You can't build a community with elitist pricks who think they're more important than the next guy.

Under appreciated? That seems like a bit of a straw man.

I don't think anybody's opinion is worth any less but when you've been around for it all you learn to appreciate how much has changed.

From the community to (especially) the sim itself things have changed in a profoundly positive way.

So yes, when new members of the community come in with heavy criticism, misguided finger pointing and denouncement in some cases perhaps there is a certain level of sensitivity from some older members of the community.

Guys. Back to my topic please.

There are still kind off ontopic. But to anwser your question more precise. You can't add the BOM and BOS bar's anymore because both those titles our out of preorder. BOK is still i preorder and you can get that bar of you want. There are some hobbyist that created some bars for the Yak and Ju52. You can add those to years subtitle if you want.

Thank you I got my answer. I owned the titles, I thought I missed something. I didn't know I have to pre-order.  I am considering to pre-order BOK to support devs. I hope I can save some money in time. It's very pricy when converted to my currency. :(

I think they should have some other kind of bars or something to acknowledge that the poster has actually purchased into the game even after pre-order. Maybe bronze.

I added mine in my signature. For the $100+ I spent, I don't think a little "forum bling" is out of order.

Besides, what a ridiculously cheap, easy, and efficient way for the developers to acknowledge the customer's purchase and make him feel like part of the team. If someone bought everything possible, but not on pre-order, it's possible he could spend close to $300 (Cdn.) and not get the courtesy of even one little costs-nothing ribbon under his avatar as a thank you. I have to admit, I do not understand that.

But then, maybe I'm just not that bright...

I am with Space here, those with all the bars have seen the ugly things :) We have also seen all the questions answered a 1000 times. We are not worth more than those without them. In fact those without them shows the community grows, witch is needed.

That must be a feeling those without full set of bars have manifested. Because at no point have I had any advantages because of them.

I don't really care if my opinion carries weight with people or not. I don't really see it as any kind of elite status symbol or anything. However I do think it is good to have them and I wish they would put out bronze for all people who bought after preorder. This way when someone starts making obvious troll complaints everyone can see did they even have the game or not.

Personally, Im not that fussed about forum badges. I always take the content of a persons post over their "seniority"/"buying power".

As a forum moderator myself, I know that even old regulars can sometimes go haywire.

However, it would be fun to have Bronze Badges etc for those that would like them.

+1 I agree and I will be very happy to have at least bronze as a proud owner of IL2 Series back than 1946.

If you don't want to see badges just use mobile view.

I'm on here on mobile 99.999999% of the time anyway. I don't see any gold bars or signatures or even mod/dev colors.
