gn728 Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Hey- so it seems the reception of VR is pretty positive as far as cockpit/flightdeck - how about the rear seaters and gunner positions in multi crew AC? How does that feel?...
Wolferl_1791 Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Most seem to work fine already. The only big issue I've seen is with the fuselage side gunner on the Pe2. Camera jumps all over the place with that one. Otherwise, the turret is used by looking through the sights. It is centered with the red eye already aligned with the crosshair. You will see a doubled crosshair to the right, which comes from your left eye. Ignore that one. You can't move your head at all, you just move the gun with the mouse. Works great as it is, although it could be improved in time.
Jade_Monkey Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 The mechanics need to be refined but the feel is AMAZING. The guns feel very real and actually a lot bigger than on the monitor. It was one of the things that surprised me the most. I would say gunner stations are one of the most underappreciated aspects of the VR hype.
OrLoK Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 (edited) IMHO they're a bit bugged unless im using them incorrectly. In the HE111 anyway. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/28587-ok-without-doubt-most-beautiful-vr-experience-he-111/?p=460431 There's a link to the post with my vid. Sorry to be a media whore but you can see all the clipping/control issues ive encountered. Still, this is the first *proper* VR patch so issues are to be expected. I too, think multicrew and gunner positions are underrated Edited April 12, 2017 by OrLoK
gn728 Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Wow! OrLoK - just watched the video - I was very impressed. Besides IL2/Box does any other sim model crew positions in VR? I know nothing about WT and, I think, DCS is all single seat besides the Huey. Anyway - very cool - bring on the Heavies! - (just kidding - I know they have to stick to the plan)...
