TheArcher Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 (edited) So, I had a very weird experience today. When I hit Alt+F1 today to enable the cockpit-confined head movement, after a few minutes in a 1 v 1 DF, I noticed that when I was in a turn, it was like I was being pushed to the opposite side of the cockpit, fighting to align my head with the gun sight. Eventually I realized that I'd leaned my real world body over about 90° to the left, only to be smashed up on the right side of the cockpit. After some experimentation, I realized that for every movement I made, the camera was slowly trying to recenter itself. I'd look to my wing and push my head back and freeze, and the in game camera would slowly push forward until the view was in the 0,0,0 XYZ position again, for example. Is there any way to disable this slow, yet persistent recentering of the camera position? It's really a massively bad thing for VR. Like I said, I ended up with my body in the complete opposite position than in game from trying to fight this. Hopefully that's a good enough description of what's going on. I don't know how else to describe it. EDIT: Might be helpful if I mentioned that I'm using a Rift. Edited April 12, 2017 by 4./JG52_DasPenguin85
Milopapa Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Try changing the camera modes. Also, there is a camera (or head?) shake setting there, disable it. I found that this recentering will remain when you are paused and in a menu, but will properly behave when you resume flying.
mrvile Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 I've also noticed that the cockpit "wobbles" around a bit while paused, trying to center on my head.
RustNeverSleeps Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I've also noticed that the cockpit "wobbles" around a bit while paused, trying to center on my head. I also get this only during pause. Hopefully they can address this as those wobbles can cause some motion sickness for folks that are new to VR.
Gunsmith86 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Its the same with the Vive the cockpit trys the hole time to bring you back to center position which over time leads to the issue were your real live body is in a position far away from your virtual body.
=IL2AU=chappyj Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Yeah camera recenter seems to be linked to the cockpit collided from what I can see
VRtrout Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Loading into the start of a mission paused and the plane floating & shifting under me instantly makes my head not feel right. With the fixed view setting enabled the cockpit should be 100% static, even when paused. And if you try to cheat, the way most other VR multiplayer games prevent clipping through places they shouldn't is they fade to black. When playing in fixed mode on a server with no clipping enabled... if the player sticks their head beyond the canopy the game would fade to black with a message saying "Head outside of canopy, move back or center will be reset in 5...4...3...2...1". That would fix the bumping head issues most are complaining about. I can fly/race for hours in VR fine, but the second a cockpit shifts and floats around under me I get that feeling in my stomach.
