IL2 BOS ?

Just made the purchase, & activated my key.  Is this a Steam only game?   If if so I have install steam to download?

Nope, not Steam only you can run it fine without it.

Only caveat now is if you are running VR, then it would require Steam VR but even then the game does not need to run through Steam.

You can play BoS without Steam.

Thanks guys, I am Rift user.  Do I understand that right then I need steam installed?   if that's true that requirement may change at some point?

Yes, you have to install Steam to fly BoS VR. It uses SteamVR.

One more thing.  I didn't get a game download link.  Looks like I can't download it from Steam ether...confused.  Any help appreciated.

awesome didn't know I could play it without steam. steam is a beast at times and its usage can be quite high. I don't use VR but that is good information to have.
