Jason Yes - getting the "unresponsive" red text immediately prior to startup, and sticks at the loading page. A few hours earlier I could get to the hangar - Start page but the master server was down

In a few years the huge majority of simmers will fly in VR. Let's now spread the GOOD WORD that a hi-fidelity combat flight sim with a superb implementation of VR exists. Unlike DCS this sim can actually be flown on very easy settings, so I think a whole new market of early VR adopters will open up. Jason, maybe consider a free download of an "Il-2 VR demo"? - Let's say with just one plane flying around in the best terrain you have (maybe some mountainous Kuban area?). This great VR experience should really get a wider audience. It will bring so much exposure and PR to Il-2 from way beyond narrow flightsimming circles. 4

Jason yes was working fine .. but ..Game starts fine, but after selecting VR Headset in options and restarting, I'm stuck at initial black loading screen indefinitely. Trying to use Vive, with normal SteamVR branch (though beta was installed earlier today). work again if i remove VR head set setting in data Under steam.. so not working ONLY when VR headset is selected.

GrinderX9 Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Wow, have increased my Graphics to Ultra, and upped my Pixel Density for the Rift to 1.8. Still very smooth, and still maintaining the 90 fps so no ASW still. Had a one on one dogfight and it was a blast. Also nice job on implementing the zoom, works well! Great job on VR devs!! This is so strange. I have a gtx 1070 and a oculus rift. And I for the most part get only 45 fps. I also get this very strange distortions when I look at objects like planes trough the propeller. wings flips like birdwings sometimes. Also gun sight do this strange thing. And the Steam vr windows flics in and out of existents during gameplay for no reason pretty often. Mabe this is an oculus rift related problem, anyone else playing with oculus rift whiteout problems? 1

Sounds like an ASW issue. I just loaded up a 4 versus 4 dogfight, still for the most part I was maintaining 90 fps, but in the heat of some of the battle it did drop to 45 fps( ASW kicked in). Have you tried locking the rift at 45fps through its debugging software? And see what the difference is.

Using a GTX970 with oculus. - get a lot of grey Screens (disconnects between il2 and steam) during flight. Seems to be that has do with performance. - Also only 45 frames. On Flat Screen constant 60 Frames. Maybe my Card is too slow. - if you roll hard the wing tips will trace ( maybe latency of pixels of oculus screen) - if you on ground and sit in a bomber and look around it seems that vsync isnt active just my 2 Cents....

totalize Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 For update 2009 I get an error #10036 Personal package not available for your account or your game copy contains modified pilots configuration files or weaponry configuration files.Game can't work correctly in this case. What's going on here. I purchased BOM from Steam but wanted BOM Premier addition which they don't offer (Why I don't know they offer everything else) so I got a refund as was going to get it from the IL2 site. Could this have something to do with the crashes I am seeing????? Please advise.

The sharpen filter is another step forward graphically and the sim is actually running smoother for me with it switched on. Noticeably longer draw distance with a sharper, cleaner look. Excellent!

I have no Idea what ASW is, but from what you describe, its the procedure that cut down the fps when you cant hold 90 fps steadily. I'm going to test more tomorrow, see what happens when I lower graphics. But I'm almost Shure my graphic card should be able to play this better, when others describe smoother experiences. ( I also have a very good new I7 processor) . So I'm inclined to think the steam VR window that pops into the game all the time at least to a degree hamper performance Edited April 11, 2017 by GrinderX9

I set my Rift up and it loaded ok. I have no sound through my headphones but I guess I have to disable it through the Rift. Also need to set it up in Steam.

Jason I am - also reading the thread for solutions. I had to enable my headset in game and restart. I also enabled sharpen. When restarting the game (after a reboot as well) I get stuck on the loading screen and IL2.exe crashes. I have checked drivers, anti virus, overlays, reboots, etc... in an effort to fix. Think I screwed the Steam VR room set up 'cos the opening hanger screen has the menu down at my feet and back to front. I managed to start the game by sitting on the floor and clicking through the menus. However, once I fly, a click of the VR view recentre key has me sitting in the cockpit nicely. Very smooth gameplay with settings at Ultra, can't wait to fully tweak all my settings and have some fun. Nice job guys, good to be back with you after a long time away!

Issues: -Cockpit feels too tight, when head borders are on I can not eaven turn my head not toutching cannopy. Cabin feels too small like a Bf109 :S - get a lot of grey Screens (disconnects between il2 and steam) during flight. It looks like game loose a signal and screen is gray for a second it repeats sometimes eaven when my head does not moove. Same as when I cover Oculus tracking device. I do have the problem with the vive too, It may look like one would get stuck, but if you look at the bottom in VR you see the charerone circle. So you are actually in a black room, fully working. I also do hear the sounds of the main menue in the background and if I press esc i am able to hear the popupwindow "do you really want to close il2" press "left" and then "enter" and the game closes. The problem must be on valves side. I'm asking myself, because of the circle on the floor, why don't we have the circle in War Thunder or DCS. Does their VR-implementation work a bit different ? I can't say how greatful I am for this day ! This is a huge step forward and now this just needs to get a little advertisement. People will buy BOS and BOM, have a amazing time, especially in VR it's hard not to say that flying in VR is a experience that is hard to forget and very addicting. Then not too far away in the future BOK will come out, and costomers will feel the drive that this title has some serious steam behind it's development. Target ID is not impaired by the Oculus resolution, the framerates are absolutely great. Smooth all around. I have just started to test and no issues. Not getting stuck like the vive users as I read above. Thank you for the cockpit limitation feature. Have not tried any gunner position yet. Cockpits look even more amazing. No problem reading instruments. (followed advise in diary on setting it up, for once ) Thank you!!
