I would like a Dornier 17, and for ground objects to cause less lag. Then the Finishpilots server would truely be the best(for bonber pilots anyway, the whole lobby is based on ground target killing). And also, Malta, for one amazing online campaign with RAF fighters defending the island, Luftwaffe airraids to take out the field, supply convoys being intercepted by Beufighters, Beuforts and Swordfishes, and the Royal Navy sending convoys to Malta and the middle east. Alternatively, they can have Burma, and bring the joys of hunting small Japanese teams in a huge rainforest.

I agree, Malta would be awesome! I personally really want a Papua New Guinea campaign, P40s and P39s vs A6Ms and Ki43s, escorting A20s and B17s!

I want them to update RoF and merge it into BoX. Then do Korea and Vietnam and have it all in one huge game system. They could expand the tanks and make drivable trucks and AA and ships. Then we could take over infantry bodies and jump from planes and have massive battles.

The community at large has said a few times that we'd love to see others who weren't part of the pre-order get the bars on the forum too. One suggestion was a bronze colour or something along those lines to keep the pre-order still feeling a bit special.

 

If/when you get in on the early-access for Kuban you'll certainly get that at the very least!

There are already free maps via multiplayer, free upgrades to graphics, fm, dm and many other features that are funded by subsequent title buyers.

The IL2 guys are showing up Lockheed's Prepar3d for physics, graphics, and overall plane fidelity, and they're doing it a shoestring budget. I'd drink to that.

My list, I also agree with the case for the biplanes though as well.

 

 

We could do this all day long dreaming of all those battles we fought in the original series but with the outstanding enhancements available in the new one.

 

It would also be nice if the current maps that are only available for winter got a summer version, let us also throw in the Murmansk map

getting finished, It is good to keep dreaming and hoping.

Actually I think instead of spending a lot of time trying to upgrade RoF to dx11 and BoX standards, they should just import everything from RoF into BoX and sell it as BoX DLC so it will benefit from future updates. Also so that we can see some 109 jockeys whine about porked FMs when they get shot down by a SPAD.

Could you imagine how much complaining rise of flight would get if they gave people the Fokker E.III and Airco D.H.2, Rise of Flight gives you three free planes, and they're considered pretty good!

 

I think the 109-F2 and LaGG-3 would be a better choice?

There's a lot of us that would support a re-work of RoF into the Bos engine...however I'm not sure we constitute enough customers to ever make it financially viable for 777.

The struggle keeping RoF going would seem to indicate not...increased exposure/marketing from this current product plus VR though...roll of the dice I think.

I would love that too. However from what I've heard about such is that the RoF world is not that compatible anymore with the current technology as used in BoX now, and it would require a significant re-write of code to make things working again.

 

I always thought that the simulator itself ("world renderer") should be largely agnostic to the map and planes it operates. There is no reason not to combine all combat aircraft in one sim. You make your mission then by selecting a theater and the apropriate planes. But there is no reason not to park an F-15 next to a SPAD. They can do it in Duxford as well.

I took nothing for granted. I paid for BOM, I paid for BOS, and I bought two extras planes. And I'm sure i will buy BOK, probably next week. I was also sincere in my thanks to the developers for the recent update who makes the sim run very well on my older PC.

 

I voiced a polite opinion about how nice it would be if we were to see a plane offered in an update at one point, and for reasons incomprehensible to me, several people lost their composure and reacted as if candy was being taken from the most innocent of babies.

FWIW the Ju 52 was a free AI unit many months before they converted it in to a full, player controlled aircraft.

 

Though none of us can really quantify the financial success of the Ju 52 (without JW releasing confidential/proprietary sales data) its pretty clear that in 3/4 cases it was a resounding success in the community. It also worked to prove that non-traditional roles in a CFS can be a lot of fun and that the technology is out there to create great features on fairly short notice.

 

I hope to see something like this again with budgets and timelines permitting.

I think JW is focused right now on recovery and rebuilding confidence in the product. Once the word gets out about how great things are now in Il-2 and all of the great things to come I think more people will be buying. I think the VR was a really good investment as I am sure that is what will grab the younger generation. RIght now it is just a big circle of "Buy our stuff!" and "We bought it all and need more to buy!". Once they start reaping the benefits of Jason's leadership and are given more to work with as far as budget goes, I am sure we will see much more content and improvements. These guys are showing now what they can do with almost nothing and it has far exceeded most expectations.
