Bought game on Steam, a CTD every time I start the program.

Have seen a few threads on this around, but never a solution. I've allowed the game through my firewall, the only virus scanner I have is Windows Defender, I've run the program as an Admin, and yet every single time I've tried to boot the program up I'm shown the loading/splash screen for a second before the game quickly exits. No crash report, no error pop up, nothing to go on. 

 

Is there any solution or did I buy a game I can't play?

 

I'm on Windows 10 with a GTX 1080 for what it's worth, everything is up to date.

Same problem!!! This is very annoying! I got windows 10 + 1080 too

I have, do they tend to take awhile to get back to you? I sent one out and took them about a day to get back to me and I've sense sent in the DxDiag and other item they requested but haven't heard a word back. I just emailed them back considering I couldn't find a ticket system on the main page.

And for the record, this is what I'm looking at every time. I've got the program set to run as Admin, which is what the black screen is, and I've allowed it through my firewall + disabled Windows Defender while testing it. I have no other AV programs that should be interfering.

Steam doesn't have a launcher I think? Unless I'm missing a .exe somewhere the il-2.exe is the only launchable .exe in the steam install that will launch anything for the actual game itself.

I am having the exact same problem

 

I have tried a multitude of other startup stuff, like windowed, fullscreen, disabling VR, re-installing all redistributables, forcing everything off 1 by 1 in the startup.cfg file. 

 

Check that the proxy is resolving on dns, and can be reached on port 443, alpha.il2sturmovik.net

 

Still just get a second or 2 of the splash screen

 

Event viewer is showing no errors, dxdiag looks fine. I think ill just have to wait for a fix.

 

Win 10, GTX 1080, Driver version 381.65
