WWII Movie: "My Way"

  I am wondering if I am alone in liking this movie.  I think it is one of the best WW2 movies in recent years.  It was made by a Korean company.  It is funny, gritty exciting and has some untouched AFAIK subjects.  There is a battle of KhalkhinGol with Soviet Tanks, a battle at Rzhev. 

  Without giving too much away, it is a true journey for Korean soldiers in WW2.  Yes, its a CGI fest and there is a little cheese but it is good.  Oh, and only one plane.  A very believable I-16.  Worth the price of admission.  I checked it out on Amazon.

The film was nominated in the category of "Best International Film" for the 39th Saturn Awards but lost.  Still, it was nominated.

I think I read about one of these two soldiers in Anthony Beevor's book on the Normandy landings. The Korean fellow had been dragged all over the world by the tide of war.

Managed to snag a copy via my local Korean grocery store. Won't get to watch for a while, but had a flip through and it looks very authentic. The battle scenes are handled in a similar way to Korean War film, Taegukgi. Saw that on a KAL flight from Seoul a while back and thought it was rather well done. Worth grabbing if you get the chance.

Haven't seen it but I know a bit about the poor, poor sods who its about. Just stunningly unlucky to have to undergo that.
