I was pondering this morning about recommendations of which VR hmd to suggest, if asked, personally I have a Rift. One thing I'd forgotten about, and one of the reasons I'd chosen the Rift in the first place was the inclusion of headphones. One less cable, one less thing to fumble around for on the desk etc etc. This then got me thinking about whether 777 will add in any tweaking, specifically to take advantage of VR hmd's positional sound capability. It might be too much to expect anything in the coming update but perhaps in the not to distant future ? I know that BoX uses a third party sound engine, I don't know if they've done any development work for VR.

Isn't positional sound already implemented in the game? What is missing according to you?

pretty sure IL2 - Box has only stereo sound and no support for true 5.1 or 7.1 Audio yet.

I know playing some Oculus fps games, sounds definitely come all around from all directions and seems like closer is louder but may be my imagination as well lol.

I can hear them left right, right rear, front right, as they move all around, etc.

Yep, same experience for me...position and distance. Awesome!

It's, at the very least, good to see there is a VR plug-in for fmod, even if specific to Oculus, whether it is beneficial to BoX or whether the dev's wil use it at all is open to question.

Born deaf in the right ear..all sounds come from the left. So to me all the sound ,5.1, 7.1,stereo,mono..all sounds the same.

It would be cool though if all that positional sound was in the game. Is it? I can't tell.
