Couple Lagg questions

Recommended Posts

Well at least now I have gotten to where I can land the Lagg decently, even doing several touch and goes in a row without issue.

I know the rest of you are enjoying some combat, keep in mind yesterday evening was the first time in this for me.

Some probably dumb questions:

Brakes - should they be working? I have the b key assigned to my HOTAS for brakes, with the hold command, and get nothing. Tried hitting the b key as well , still do not appear to have brakes - are they functioning yet, or am I missing something?

Flaps Up - Now this one is kind of weird, the default key command for this is lshft+f.  Flaps down is f. I have these programmed to buttons on my HOTAS as well, with a hold command. The flaps down works as it should , incremental for quick button presses, keep going down whilst holding button down until I release or they reach their stop.

Flaps up on the other hand, just does not work. ( using Target software). I have tested that button in event viewer, and it does produce the lshft+f as it should, but does not have an effect on the flaps in the game. However, if I just press the key combo on the keyboard whilst in the game, then it works - flaps move up. Very weird, I may have to play around with this awhile to figure it out. Guess I could re-assign keys for it as well and try that...

Mixture - does the LAGG have mixture control? I can not tell if anything is happening when moving the axis I have it assigned to.

Thanks for any tips,

The brakes are working. You want to assign a button or a lever and it will work. You can check by the little break lever on the pilot stick in game. If you use the brake and press the rudder left or right it works as a left/right break. If yaw paddle is not touched it will break on all wheels.

I cannot help with the flaps, on my side they work as intended. Have a button on the CH quadrant assigned. Up=up, down=down and the default (middle) position the flaps stop moving.

Mixture control works great. You can check in the cockpit next to the throttle. Full mixture means the mixture lever is all the way back in the cockpit.

If you have a lever assigned to the mixture, you should see it move in the cockpit when moving the lever.

All the above counts for the LAGG3.

The 109 does have differential brakes, so they work different compaired to the Lagg brakes. Also the mixture is not working as a players input. It's on auto in the 109, as are the radiators and the prop pitch.

Hope it helps a bit.

Hold "B" for brakes, it takes a while for them to take effect, just keep holding it down.

People have reported issues with binding modifiers (Shift, Control and Alt) plus a key, within their joystick software, be it Target or Saitek control panel, or whatever. Seems the game only registers the key press and not the modifier. Try binding using the game's Control menu for now.

Thanks for  that, I was not looking for a control to move but mainly my visual on how the airplane was moving - just did not seem to be slowing it at all - I will double check this.

Yeah the flaps thing is really weird - I too have mine assigned to a 3 position switch ( flaps switch on the Warthog throttle), works great in down and middle positions, up produces nothing even though it produces the appropriate key combo.

Thanks for the feedback,

Well I reckon it has just been a long day for me, between trying to get my profile done up just the way I want it, and learning how to fly the dang Lagg.

Re: Brakes - first, I had forgotten to even assign them in Target, then - when I was trying to use them just using the keyboard, I was pressing the b key, rather than the forward slash key - duh! All is well with the brakes now, working as should.

Re: flaps up, I just reassigned to another key and changed it in Target to that key, the flaps up switch works as it should now.

Calling it an evening I think, tomorrow is a new day...

You might make sure you don't have auto-mixture turned on.
