Hawk777th Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Just wanted to know if you guys had some tips on getting everything mapped? I usually play the campaign on normal but I am finding all the servers are expert... I am having a nightmare getting it all mapped. I have an X52 Pro I have guns bombs rockets view on the stick. The other hat has bomb fuse, drop selector and bomb sight. I have Gear Flaps Tail Wheel Air Brake on the buttons on bottom of stick. I have pitch and aileron rudder trim trim on the hat switch on the throttle. I guess I still need Oil Coolers, Water Coolers, Prop, Mixture etc and I am pretty much out of buttons. I thought I could put Prop Pitch and Mix on the rotary switches but it leaves coolers and super charger prop Auto/Manuel etc. If you are flying can u map oil and water to same switch or do they need to be managed individually? Also is there a way to start on a field cold and dark to test this stuff the missions seem to just put u on the runway ready for action which isnt helpful for trying to get everything set up. Thanks for any tips. Edited April 5, 2017 by Hawk777th
Y29.Layin_Scunion Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 If you're running out of bindings, I'd switch things like your bomb selector and gear to your keyboard. It's not something you'll be using constantly or in combat like you would with oil/water coolers, prop pitch. From when I was using a T16000M, I had things I wouldn't be using often on my keyboard. The X52 pro has plenty of buttons to keep you from fumbling around. Take certain things as a priority if you're using them on the fly. Putting your gear down shouldn't be something you need to do on the fly....let alone constantly adjusting. Same goes for your bomb selector. If you are flying can u map oil and water to same switch or do they need to be managed individually? You can map them to one switch if you like. I wouldn't recommend it but it is 100% possible. The reason I say not to map them to the same button is that some radiators create A LOT more drag than others. A good example is the La-5. It's oil cooler was designed as to create insignificant drag whether it is fully open or not. Fully open it creates ~2-4kph speed loss compared to closed. While the La-5's outer cowls can create ~35-40kph speed loss fully open. So mapping them to the same button would be extremely detrimental and IMO make the aircraft near impossible to fly efficiently. Also is there a way to start on a field cold and dark to test this stuff the missions seem to just put u on the runway ready for action which isnt helpful for trying to get everything set up. You can adjust how you start a quick mission (parked, started on runway, in the air). Campaign missions do not have that option as far as I know...
