My Most Memorable Fight So Far

Flying a LaGG, I messed up my first engagement, missing when I tried to bounce the 109 and allowing him to get above me.  I kept at it, and we went up and up and up and the fight dragged on.  Eventually I baited him down and got a round or two in his engine which resulted in black smoke and eventually...

The next engagement was the memorable one.  I got a better bounce on the 109, still missed but retained energy and climbed away turning the as 109 tried to get to me.  We had a couple of passes trying to get angles and eventually I hit him with a couple of MG rounds at long range.    He was slightly above and trying to climb away but I had more energy and was closing.  The MG is empty.  I close in more and the 109 is maneuvering but I got in a lucky cannon round.  He is trailing fuel.  I thought the fight was almost over and wondered how long until his tank ran dry... and my engine sputters and quits.  You should not wish ill on another, I guess, even if they are virtual.

 

I am sure I was out of gas after the protracted first fight and only taking 40% fuel to start with.

 

Fortunately I was in a good spot and gave a burst of cannon fire.  No hits.  Zoom in and shoot again, energy bleeding away.  A couple of hits, but no immediate signs of the fight ending.  Another, longer burst.  Some more hits and finally he is going down, the pilot bailing out.  

 

Fortunately I was still at 2300m and had plenty of energy to deadstick it home, passing very close to another LaGG on departure as I was on final going the other way.  Where is the button for declaring an emergency?
