gnomechompsky Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I have just bought a x34a monitor (100hz) and was keen to try out the G-sync capability. That said, I am not sure it is working properly. Has anyone had any success in IL2? Is there anyway to indicate that G-sync is actually engaged? My specs: i7 4790k 2 x GTX 980. Whatever the current drivers are. I have turned on G-sync in the nVIDIA control panel (windowed and full-screen) and turned off vsync in global and application (IL2) settings. If I start IL2 in windowed mode (full screen deselected), I am capped at 60fps on a quick mission. If I start IL2 in full screen, the frame rate is uncapped but there is clearly tearing. With V-sync on I am capped at 60fps.
coconut Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 (edited) It's been working for me, except maybe for the fact that it should behave like vsync above your monitor top frequency but doesn't. But under that, no problem. I've been using fullscreen, vsyinc off, gsync on. I checked it was working by showing the monitor's frequency. My monitor has that option (an Acer predator), I don't know if yours has. Have you tried setting your frame limiter to 100? Edited April 2, 2017 by coconut
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 (edited) it's not working in fullscreen mode after dx11 patch (i have acer predator x34), btw i have 100 fps&hz on windowed mode without tearing... Edited April 2, 2017 by 307_Tomcat
SYN_Vorlander Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I have a acer predator x34 and my g-syn works in full screen,
SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I also have a Acer x34 and G-Sync don't work in full screen
gnomechompsky Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 Thanks for the advice. I checked my refresh rate on the monitor settings and turns out it was set at 60hz. It still needed a bit more tinkering to get it to work but I think I have succeed based on what the monitor and my eyes are telling me. My settings: Fullscreen - off - doesn't seem to work with it on. Frame limiter - off (not tested whether this affects it) Gsync - on windowed and full V sync off.
Innovisor Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 It's actually don't work. tearing is viewable highly. settings: v-sync off, g-sync on, full screen, 165 Hz monitor Asus PG279Q. In windowed mode fps drops highly (GTX1080 OC)
SYN_Vorlander Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Im using a titan XP with the monitor. G-Syn active no no tearing during full screen gameplay. 120 -119 FPS 99% of the game
Sketchy Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 I think I read somewhere that you need to turn v-sync on to enable g-sync. With v-sync on in the game, the fps max out at 165, which is my PG279Q's max refresh rate. With v-sync off, the fps goes as high at 250. No visible tearing either way, though.
