Gambit21 Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Ever get a hung save, restart the editor and now your mission won't load? Deleting the .msbin file didn't work. "save all missions to a folder" right now in hopes that does the trick. If it doesn't, watch this space for a full on panic - I have a ton of work into this mission.
Gambit21 Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 Turns out I had it saved elsewhere...still - that was close. I got the same error, with that same mission when I tired to save the missions to another folder.
Urra Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I have gotten this. Pain is not an accurate enough word for this.
No601_Swallow Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Saving's a bit like voting in Irish general elections: save early, save often. And I often make a "back-up" save, just in case something catastrophic happens.
LLv34_Temuri Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 We use version control system for missions and the java code with our VP server stuff.
Gambit21 Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 I have zero idea what that means Temuri. I guess I'll start treating missions like my 3D work. Like Swallow says, save early, often, and save back-ups.
LLv34_Temuri Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Version_control#Overview We use Bitbucket: https://bitbucket.org/product
Habu Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Gambit, the editor is very unstable in v2.008. My advice is to save very often (every minutes). 1
Gambit21 Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks Habu - as always. Once again Temuri - I can't make any sense of that.
LLv34_Temuri Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Once again Temuri - I can't make any sense of that. Basically you can save versions of your mission, and when needed look at the version history (with your comments about the version you have saved) and get any version you want back into use. The services usually are in cloud (e.g. Bitbucket), so it means that if you have a HD failure, your work is not lost.
