g2a.com Legit or what?

Hi Folks.

I was playing DCS the other night and some guys started arguing about g2a . com.

So later on I went and found I could get many games such as DCS modules, il2 bos and hundreds of other games at huge discount that appeared to come from third party sellers posted on the website.

I was tempted to pull the trigger on a DCS module, but I thought better of it (really because I have all the planes brought legit from the official website and have too little time to learn more stuff) and I expect many people who use this forum have had experience or know people who've used it. I noticed a trend on amazon for Windows where third parties acting legit are selling illegal keys for huge discount. Keys that were never supposed to be re-sold and yet even amazon lets this stuff slide (I'd have to search the web for the accurate description).

So what's up with this g2a website?

Has anyone had a key that's worked for a number of years?

Are the keys somehow illegal and likely to expire or get re-claimed?

How can the prices be so cheap?

Where do the keys come from?

If it's legit and safe, have you brought from this website?

If the site is illegal then why is it still in business?

---

That's all folks.

As far as IL2 BOX is concerned, do not buy it from any other site than the official one or Steam.

Keys or accounts you acquire in indirect ways may be invalidated due to e.g. fraudulent transactions, and in that case you have no recourse.

I think a while ago someone posted that a key which he bought from g2a was locked out - there was news after that regarding legit 3rd party stores for DCS keys:

Dear users!

Only DCS World keys purchased from these locations are valid purchases and can be activated in the Module Manager:

Any DCS World keys purchased from other sources are invalid and are simply trying to re-sell keys that are bound to other users or purchased through fraud. Such sites include Kinguin, CDExpress and G2A.

If you purchase DCS World keys from these sites, we cannot help you. We suggest you contact these sites for a refund.

Given the number of posts on this forum concerning issues with people buying BoS from g2a, and given the prominent warning on the DCS forum about buying from third-party sources, including g2a, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. As for why a site with such a reputation is still in business, they describe themselves a 'digital gaming marketplace', merely enabling buyers to contact sellers, and thereby claim not to be responsible for any illegitimate trades.

If you buy IL2 BoS from there you'll get the Russian market only game that has just two flyable planes.   Everything else has to be unlocked.

DCS has recently changed its terms and conditions so I suspect any modules bought from this site - and others like it - will be porked too.

In short, don't touch it.

Are these sites "illegal"?  Thats an elastic term.  Why is it still in business?  Because people are gullible and how do you go about getting it shut it down?

I first bought Rise Of Flight through G2A.

I'd say they are definitely legit, but for this sim, there is no good reason to use them.

OK. Well, I have all the current planes for bos and bom. I was just surprised how low some of the prices were when compared to steam. I love a good deal and to save money though.

G2A is sort of like a pawnshop for software (not just games). Like real world pawnshops, much of the stuff was acquired legally and should pose no problem, but a lot of it was also stolen (or acquired with stolen credit cards). Just like physical items, anything that's stolen is subject to seizure even if everything you did is 100% legal, stolen property is stolen property. As mentioned above, ED recently deactivated a whole bunch of stolen keys that were sold on G2A. Microsoft has had similar mass deactivations for Windows keys bought on such sites as the keys were purchased with stolen credit cards originally and then resold to unsuspecting end users. I cannot recommend using G2A or similar sites for that reason.

Do not buy IL-2 from G2A unless you are seeking to intentionally screw the community and short-change 1CGS/777.

Don't buy DCS modules from G2A because they will end up banned.

Buy all of EA and Ubi's shitwear on G2A or any other mediocre mainstream franchise.

I've had an A-10C keybanned before (it was a G2A key) but when ED couldn't provide any evidence that it was stolen, tech support reactivated the key.

It was sort of like having a key shadowbanned because I didn't purchase it from a "certified retailer."

I've bought a lot of games theough g2a but not any "big" games or sim. Stay with steam and website for DCS and IL-2 in my opinion

I bought Battlefield Bad Company 2 yesterday for £2.10.

Everything works just fine for me, so it seems pretty legit.

Hello there

A good rule of thumb is to never buy amything from a key seller that you want to keep forever.

G2A (afaik) is legit to "grey" market.

Ill never spend more than a tenner there and that is in itself rare.

The best place to buy is from the developers.

Much less risk and you are really contributing!
