People do all kinds of nasty things in war. I'm sure far worse things happen we never know about.

 

I expect all parties involved are dead now.

From what I've heard from veterans, if your country is drawn into the hell that is war, your priority is protecting your friends from any potential threats, including enemy personnel undergoing training.
