Template has now been updated with some additional weathering layers and a minor fix to the panel line highlight layer.  I have added some detailed mud, oil and stains to the template.  The original link has been updated with the new template.

 

For reference the new weathering layer is simply called "new weathering".

Apologies everyone.  I just realised the RAF desert P-40 in the skinpack had the sharkmouth disable when I save it.  I mean it's only the most iconic part of the skin, so who would miss it. 

 

I have updated the skins with the new weathering layers and added the shark mouth to the RAF desert P-40.  So please download the skinpack from the my first post again.

Just curious and ignorant.... If I am using one of these skins, will others see it if they do not also have a copy of it or will they see a default skin? Or what?

 

Oh... also, I have not been able to download the Normal map for some reason.

Hey Thad, 

 

Someone else can only see your custom skin if they also have the custom skin installed. If the other does not have the skin, he will see the default skin.

Disregard the normal map link problem. It was reporting that the download wasn't working properly... but I received the file.

Hey Tom, can you check this skin from Boomerang ??? He has the right colours like the one we have here in the museum. Even your weathered skin has too bright/cartoon colors. If you can fix the propeller spinner color, plane camouflage and especially the FAB star, it is going to be a perfect skin.

I used a green base with faded desert tan , I uploaded a new version with a darker tan.

I used the FAB roundel based on that photo, also faded the colors like they show in the photo

 

the Boomerang model uses a roundel used later on.

Hi Samson.

I found a couple of bugs in your skin; I'd like to gently point them out to you (see the pictures in attachment):

1) the rear portion of the cockpit is missing and the airframe appears transparent;

2) on the front part of the landing gear's fairins the green doesn't completely cover the olive drab.

 

For the rest the skin is beautiful ?
