Trim, I am doing it wrong. Help!

Recommended Posts

Alright, so I take off, I am flying around and would like to alleviate some stick pressure. So, I trim nose down (RCtrl + cursor up), right? I still got my hand on the stick and I subtly start letting go only to have the plane start tracking upward. So I trim in the other direction which I believe to be wrong, same thing, up she goes. I don't see any trim wheel on the instrument panels as I am trimming either. I'm lost.... please help!

Two thoughts occur.

One, trim is not yet effective.

Two, the setting might have a different name. I recall a post today about trim (or pitch?) wherein the user was directed to another setting option which was actually what he was looking for, despite the name not being as expected.Sorry I can't be more precise but that's all I recall about it.

I guess I should have been more specific, I was referring to pitch trim. Trying to get those elevators to alleviate some stick pressure.

The pitch trim is not yet working in the LaGG and in the 109 it's not called pitch trim, it's a few settings down and called stabiliser adjustment or something similar.

Thank you very much!

Yes, pitch trim is for the trim tabs and stabiliser adj. is for the whole fin. I think planes have either or so I'm going to map them both to the same control then I know it's OK.

I did the same, exact same two buttons on my stick for both elevator trim and stabilizer adjustment. Anyways, as said you cannot trim the LaGG-3 yet but the Bf-109 trims nicely.

Thank you for clarifying this for us, I had no idea what the stabilizer trim was for.
