Judge_Holden Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 So I switched to normal difficulty for the winter campaign because I'm having issues spotting, especially during a snowstorm. In my Mig-3 I noticed that there is a discrepancy of altitude between my altimeter and the readout. Is that a bug or am I reading it wrong? Or is the altimeter not accurate?
Monostripezebra Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Barometric altimeters measure pressure, not actual hight over ground, so in the easy gui-settings you can have different readings. remember, you can toggle your altimeter between an empirical setting and one after the ISA by pressing alt+A
JimTM Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) The readout at the bottom indicates your current height above the ground whereas your altimeter either indicates your height above your departure airfield or your height above mean sea level under standard atmospheric conditions. See this post for more details. Edited March 19, 2017 by JimTM
