santiagojamesaea Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Hi All, I quote- "A zip file containing sample missions and groups is available along with this manual. The sample file includes a "readme" text file with installation instructions. The sample file includes singleplayer and multiplayer missions for most of the examples in this manual" Can anyone PLEASE direct me to this file......i do not seem to be able to find it!!! Of course seeing how 777 have actually done a "missión" or complicated (for me) example would help greatly in "unravelling" some of the editors secrets(would be nice to have the "effect sustainer"too)!. I am pleased to say that i am making progress! (thanks to vanders videos again!
santiagojamesaea Posted March 19, 2017 Author Posted March 19, 2017 Great!!! Just found it with a link in a post by jimTM. Many thanks to all!!
[SRH]Festa_VR_Noob Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I`ve managed to follow the instructions (although i still ask questions on it sometimes) without any of the example groups, as the guide contains so great screenshots of the MCU setups. There`s also a groups sharing section here that you can also go digging through to how different people setup the same task differently. Happy learning!
JimTM Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Great!!! Just found it with a link in a post by jimTM. Many thanks to all!! I'm glad that you found the sample file santiagojamesaea. I'll change the line that you quoted to read, "A zip file containing sample missions and groups is available where you got this manual..." Hopefully that makes finding the file easy.
JimTM Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 ... There`s also a groups sharing section here that you can also go digging through to how different people setup the same task differently. ... Good point Festa_PWR. There are often many ways to accomplish the same task in the mission editor. From page 1 of the manual: Important! The mission designs in this manual do not necessarily show the only way to accomplish your goals. Experienced mission designers often come up with improved designs that make missions run more efficiently and provide new features. As you gain experience, you will be able to understand more complex missions and develop your own mission designs.
santiagojamesaea Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 Thank you everybody, There are many ways to get things done, some of them are "cheats"- i've just been on the ROF editor and wanted a misión over the trenches, so i went into the quick misión editor, set up the misión ,unpaused it when "ingame" and then exited. I then copied the "_gen.Mission", renamed it and put my rather silly and simple single player misión on it....but Voila!!! i have towns, smoke over the lines,Balloons, random artillery fire on the trenches, AAA air bursts all kinds of emersive stuff that i could never dream of doing by myself! I am by NO means experienced and just about everything goes over my head but there are some helpful videos and very helpful people around!! Many thaks all!!
ludwiggigispe Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Hello everybody, I'm inexperienced and start now to use IL-2 BoS bought recently. Someone can help me suggesting where to download simple missions to play offline for training (take-off, fighting, landing) ? In missions contained in the simulator you can: or just take off, flight and landing or only fighting with airplane already in flight. Thank you.
TP_Silk Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Hey Ludwiggigispe, Your best bet is probably to use the Quick Mission generator and pick either the single aircraft mission for practicing taking off and landing or the simple dogfight mission for practicing ACM. Remember that you can greatly customise the encounters with regard to altitude, what enemy you get, how many of them spawn at any time, how often they will spawn, what skill level they have, etc Apart from that, once you've got yourself sorted and confident enough, play some of the missions and the campaign. You'll soon get it.
