Finkeren Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Hi guys, I'm not the proud owner of a Yak-1 (127) at this moment, although I'm a lover of my good lady Yak-1 (63)... From what I can read on the official store page, it's not obvious that it features : 1. The M-105 PF engine. 2. Electrical and pneumatic firing of the weapons instead of the mechanical system. (-> more reliable firing ?) 3. New gunsight. 4. Retractable tailwheel. Could the happy owners of this lovely beast could shed some lights here ? 1. Both the s.69 and the s. 127 have the 105PF engine, no difference there. 2. There is no mechanical reliability modeled, and really no notable difference in firing mechanism between any planes in the sim. 3. To me the gunsight seems the same. 4. The retractable tail wheel (as well as a new looking mechanism linked to rudder movement) is modeled, and is part of why the s. 127 is faster than the s. 69. 1

Fast, clear and detailled answer, thank you Finkeren !

Thanks for the excellent info, Fink, on this and on the MIg-3. A question, though: how do you retract the tail wheel? Is it with the landing gear, or have I been flying with my tail wheel hangin'?

Is it with the landing gear, or have I been flying with my tail wheel hangin'? It's all a single keypress so when you retract the gear the tailwheel retracts as well. Makes life easier
