Rigsby Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Whats wrong with the controls in this Sim? To be honest I have spend every session that comes along trying to set the controls up in this sim and it's not fun. Once I do and another patch comes out none of them seem to work again. I am using the CH Quaderent and have no idea why the throttle or the other levers are responding worse then they did last week. I will spend another 3 days trying to work this out before my session ends again without much flying. Please fix the controllers because it's the most frustrating thing I keep coming across. I am not bothered if the game takes forever, but please do something with the controller setup.
Rigsby Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 (edited) 5 hours later and still cannot get this game to recognise the CH throttle Quaderent. When I select one of the levers as throttle and move it up and down it comes back saying it is joy2_b23/joy2_b23? isn't it suppose to come back saying it's an axis? None of the levers are doing anything on the CH Quaderent. Anyone else getting this and wwat could be wrong? Edited December 7, 2013 by Rigsby
Malfador Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Rigsby - make sure that the axis isnt assigned to something else. I would clear the troublesome axis altogether and then reassign. My apologies if you've already tried that. That being the case submit a detailed bug report - We are testing I guess

My apologies if you've already tried that. That being the case submit a detailed bug report - We are testing I guess I managed to get it going, but I stumbled on this by chance. When you are using the levers on the Quadrant you have to move them slowly forwards and then backwards for the to be recognised as an axis. If you don't move them slowly they are seen as buttons for some reason. However, there is still a problem with the cowling control set to a lever on the CH Quadrant. I have it set as an axis now, but I have to push my lever forwards and then backwards for the cowling to move to the forwards position, and then forwards and backwards again on the lever for the cowlling lever in the cockpit to move back. Anyone else found this?

Anyone else found this? Hello, May be I am wrong. Do not forget that on CH Quadrant, you have 3 positions per axis. 1 : Button MIN ZONE 2 : Button Detent 3 : Axis. It is possible that Bos recognizes the first trigger sent as button 2 detent when moving forward. I have no time to try it now but you can check : move a lever passed the detent, then try to assign it in Bos. Have fun 1
-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Well i will say that at this stage of the game, the controls setup options are temperamental at best. There have been numerous bug reports on the controls setup, I have put in a few myself. things like difficulty mapping switches with a warthog, issues using inverse axis features, and the like. hopefully they improve it before the next itteration. it really is a pain in the butt
dburne Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 How does one submit to the bug thread? Says I can not start a new topic over there.

dburne Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 (edited) go to the pinned threads and submit it there Ok but in the bug reports forum, I see several members are able to start new threads there - just wondering what I am missing as it will not let me? Edited December 7, 2013 by dburnette

dburne Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 dunno, i cant start a new thread either Very strange.
-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Very strange. its probably because they dont like me much
dburne Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 its probably because they dont like me much Lol, well I am pretty sure I paid the same as these other gold founders, which really makes me curious. Oh well, much more important things to worry about now for me, like this glass of wine and dinner in progress!
