unreasonable Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) Since the last update - or thereabouts - I cannot get FRAPS to record in-game or from tracks. The yellow FRAPS frame-rate counter is showing, but it will not record when hot-key is used. Same with FRAPS screenshot. The other game I tested had no issues - so FRAPS is working, just not with IL-2: it was just a couple of weeks ago. My hotkey is not conficting with any in game key setting. FRAPS is most recent version payware. Any ideas? Could this be related to the issue that the Steam overlay and IL-2 loading screens are now miniturized? Edited March 9, 2017 by unreasonable
unreasonable Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 SOLVED But very strange. After last update the screen resolution in the settings tab had re-set to the lowest possible, although actually in game it was still rendering at previous 1920-1080 which was why I had not recognized the change. After resetting to 1920-1080 and restarting, FRAPS works as normal and loading screens are no longer miniturized.
Thad Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Don't you just love the feeling of solving a such problems?
unreasonable Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 Indeed - after a full re-install of both IL-2 and FRAPS, hours spent watching tutorials on the web about why FRAPS may not be recording and how to fix it - all irrelevant: finding that it is down to a simple in game glitch is a relief. But also infuriating that an update would do that. At least I assume that is what did it - cannot think of anything else. Anyway all good now. If anyone else ever has the strange experience of seeing their loading screens only taking up part of their screen, this is what has happened.
