=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) Howdy Fellow Pilots! After a few recent personal messages asking me for current settings im using on GTX780 and so on i thought instead i would just post my current settings and configs to this basic guide,So those with similar system specs can get...- Smooth gameplay at good frames- Very high to Ultra Graphics at good frames- Smooth Gameplay while watching 20 planes dogfight in Multiplayer and little to no crashes.Few things to note. I run the game from a shortcut to IL2.exe Directly as AdministratorI now run a 55 Fps lock via Nvidia Inspector as little difference from 60fps and frees up a little more CPU cycles in case game needs them for multiplayer/Ai calculationsI will only post the pic for Nvidia inspector as all control panel settings are in InspectorPre rendered frames can be set to 1 for least input lag but then graphics can appear jerky even @ 100fpsHere is my Startup.cfg Graphics section (Currently in Use)IF YOU GOING TO COPY IT DELETED THE STUFF IN BACKETS (No idea why its multicoloured and half green) [KEY = graphics] adapter = 0 bloom_enable = 0 (BLOOM DISABLED - NO MORE SILLY BASKETBALL SIZE LIGHTS AT 9KM) desktop_center = 1 detail_rt_res = 1024 fps_counter = 1 fps_limit = 0 (INGAME FPS LIMITER OFF - AS DRIVER LEVEL LIMITER ON) full_height = 1080 full_width = 1920 fullscreen = 1 (FULLSCREEN ON AS I HAVE DUAL SCREEN SO CAN ALT TAB EASILY) gamma = 0.80000 (ONLY STOCK MIN USED AS I ADJUST FURTHER IN RESHADE) grass_distance = 1.00000 (GRASS REDUCED FROM 100M to 1M - PERSONALLY DON'T LIKE THE GRASS TEXTURES & THEY EAT FPS) hdr_enable = 0 (HDR DISABLED) land_tex_lods = 3 (DISTANT TERRAIN X4) mgpu_compatible = 0 multisampling = 0 (INGAME MSAA DISABLED AS SMAA ULTRA IS SMOOTH ENOUGH FOR ME & USES LESS GPU THAN MSAAx1) or_enable = 0 preset = 3 (ULTRA QUALITY PRESET) ssao_enable = 0 (SSAO DISABLED) vsync = 0 (INGAME VSYNC DISABLED - AS DRIVER LEVEL VSYNC ON) win_height = 1024 (not used by me) win_width = 1280 (not used by me) [END] So Hope these help those struggling to get smooth gameplay (either low fps or high CPU load stutter)CheersSshadow Edited March 6, 2017 by =R4T=Sshadow14
=EXPEND=CG_Justin Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 The only thing I would add for absolute beginners is where to get Nvidia Inspector, and the location of the Startup.cfg in the file structure and how to edit it. Thanks for this Sshadow.
=EXPEND=CG_Justin Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 I just got done testing these settings on my GTX 760 card and these settings are keepers. Other than the occasional bump in strained situations these settings are smooth as butter for me. Thanks Sshadow!
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) No worries Justin i will edit with extra info along with my settings for modded Terrain.Cfg and so onAlso i am glad it helped.1 thing to note I have a very High end Motherboard for my FX8350 so might get better perf than same gpu & cpu on cheap motherboard (actually Mobo cost $370 where cpu was only $265 week after 8350 came out) Cabbage and peas on one dish. Sorry mate if this is some sort of local saying or platitude i don't understand other than now im hungry Edited March 7, 2017 by =R4T=Sshadow14
Boris_CRO Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 This looks awsome, if only somebody do similar for AMD cards.

Hoss Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 worked like a champ, I have a GTX 580Ti, and I went from 25-25fps in cockpit, same for low altitude looking out the canopy to a constant 59/60fps and no real loss of fidelity in looks of the game.... forgot I had NVIDIA inspector in my Driver files. Took a bit but I finally cured my cranial rectimitus and found the cfg file too...... thanks for the tips Hoss
Boris_CRO Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 sorry i have no idea how ATI Catalyst works other than im shocked it actually Runs... sorry i like ATI as much as i like standing on lego blocks AMD dont use Catalyst anymore but "Radeon Settings".
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 AMD dont use Catalyst anymore but "Radeon Settings". You can put lipstick on a pig, But it's still a pig
