Madcop Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 O.K. Now I understand the "Technical" absence of the Beule . But I think you are wrong about Graf's Grun 1. It is a Erla machine WNr.15919 with the typical Erla sawtooth wings camo and big blotches on the fuselage. So it could also have been an de-pressurized G-5 aircraft. Being an Erla Production G-6 Graf's machine did have the Beule on the right cowling. Erla was the only factory to have built the G-5 model and as they built the G-6 on the same assembly line they kept the G-5 cowling on their G-6 model. You can clearly see it on the pics and video, and nowhere we can spot the presence of the Rotter Jager emblem. Grun " from Weiroster is also an Erla machine with WNr.15912. The camo scheme is the same as on Graf's machine. Grislawski Weiss 10 was an WNF built aircraft with WNr 140066. Please understand that I do not want to detract your work, and I also could be wrong...the matter is never simple when it comes to LW Bf 109G serie. Looking forward to Weiroster's bird. This one was shiny as a mirror ! ? 1
RaFiGer Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) Hello Madcop Thanks for these information's and you're right about Graf's plane. ? I check the photograph in the book (page 202) it is definitely 15919, thanks for the correction I will change that of course Regarding Grislawski's plane, do you have a copy of the information, because I take the number from unsure estimations, I would like to correct it too I post my attempt on the G6 model regarding the little cowl with the Normal Map so you could check if this is ok for usage. I wish you a pleasant day and I'm very glad that I could make the schemes a bit more historical correct even if it will never be perfect Yes the polishing of the birds and special for the Weiroster plane is important, I will try to gave this plane a more shining Alpha Layer as it could be seen on the photo of him leaning on the tail of his bird Edited April 13, 2020 by RaFiGer
RaFiGer Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 @Community In doing some enhancements to the existing Template und corrections to the paint schemes I like to show my latest one, the Bf-109-G5/U4 of Leutnant Gottfried Weiroster. He was credited with 4 victories over 4 engine Bombers before he was shot parachuting from his damaged plane on November 26th, 1943. The wings and the plane was polished to enhance airspeed and wears the typical field adapted camouflage of the G-Series. Here are some more screenshots: Spoiler Download together with revised versions of JG 50 in short time around mid this week 4 1
Madcop Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Hi Rafiger. Nice... may I just point out that Gottfried's aircraft had the normal curved head protection...obvious from two different pictures. I amd efinitely waiting for this one. Well done !
RaFiGer Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) @Madcop I did now all what was possible for me without possiblities to "hack" the 3D Cover for the compressor installed in the G-series beginning from 1943, but it didn't work out because it is just to flat and so I will not implement it to the Normal Map & the paint scheme I change the type plate at least to read G5/U4 but without the 3D model parts for the G14 it is not looking anyway near reality. So, I will lastest beginning of next week post an overhaul of my G6 Template together with Normal Maps that could be changed using JSME or the Ovid Mod Tool. Thank you very much for your input, but I have my limitations and the schemes in either way are hopefully good for use Edited April 24, 2020 by RaFiGer 1

I will publish all skins that had a similar 3 plate additional armour mounted on both sides of the fuselage made of 5 mm thick steel plates. You have to use my special Normal Map (Bump Map), which will visually imitate the plates on the war birds. And... I have finally adapted the Alpha Channel to get rid of the mirror looks Now it is saturated and looks more like real life My special page with history of Sturmstaffel 1 will follow a bit later but meanwhile I will post download links for the skins to allow testing Here's the paint scheme and the download links for 2k and 4k skins and the related Normal Map file: Fw-190 A6 - White 2 in 2k resolution Fw-190 A6 - White 2 in 4k resolution Normal Map (with Original Bumpmap included) Hide contents So you mean that we have to create a new folder for the A6 normal maps and skin? or do we have to place everything in the A5 folder? First I was able to gather good information's to build up at least 12 schemes covering 2 units of 7./ JG 3 the so called "Comet-Squad" and 9./JG 3 named "Eye Squad" because of their painted Comet & Eye Symbols onto the "Beulen" of the Bf-109 G6/R6 birds. Because it is very time consuming to do Templates, Missions and Schemes I setup first a page for presenting complete packs of the different schemes. First you could download 4 Skins of the Comet-Squad dated mid to end 1943 and two Skins of the Eye Squad also dated mid to end 1943. Two "Eye" Skins are not ready yet and will be added as soon I finished them. After that I will add 1944 versions of the Comet Squad and planes of II./JG 3 with also nice pattern. JG 1 will be next with also a Squad featuring German Aces which fight against U.S.A.A.F. and RAF forces during 1943 and 1944 over the Western front. RaFiGer Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) @DN308 that would be nice but the game will not recognise this new folder So, you have to replace the A5 Normal/Bump Map for this plane. Unfourtunatly we will not have a Fw-190 A6 in the future, so for the A6 planes of "Sturmstaffel 1" the A5 is the model for using the schemes with this special Bump Map. This is my page related to IL2-1946 and I will redo all the skins with you could see here Old page related to Sturmstaffel 1 Right now I working on porting all my old IL2 Themes and skins to 4k of Great Battles, but it will take a while, I'll keep you updated @Bf-109 G6 The template of mine is different from the game's one, so I have setup a special Normal Map for this plane, which should be replace the original one. Otherwise there are some optical issues regarding flaps, ports and hatches which I overworked. Thanks to the mod possibilities it is straight forward to replace the files using a mod tool like JSMGE or Ovid Edited April 24, 2020 by RaFiGer Regarding G6... 1

RaFiGer Posted February 24, 2021 Author Posted February 24, 2021 (edited) @Community After a longer while I have started and will continue my little Site updating old skins and correcting some due to now available historical information's. I will post all updates in this thread linked to the specific pages on my webpage Tremedous work is archived now by so much artist and allready there a a big base of different paint schemes available, but I think there is still some place for my interpretation's and of course some new ones I will focus on some not so much shown schemes and of course revamping some of my old IL2 Forgotten Battle skins especially refering to the Fw-190 A/F and D-Series. Although there are the fantastic standard templates I will include a new Normal Map and Alpha Layer suiting my personal paint style for the Messerschmitt, Focke Wulf and Junkers Series. RaFiGer Posted March 7, 2021 Author Posted March 7, 2021 (edited) @Community My efforts are comming along in updating old paint schemes to newer versions. I have started with Bf-109 schemes and here I finalize my Bf-190 G series and will update all skins refering to their historical units on my page. In addition I did some schemes based on my library and with good help using decal sheets e.g. from EXITO (Poland), here Bf- 109 from Balkans and Assault planes(Ju-87, Fw-190). Hoping for the Karelia Map I'm busy updating my older pages related to: "Luftwaffe over Finland" - Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey - Lento-osasto Kuhlmey and here special the Fw-190 A6 Models which I prepared using the Fw-190 A5. Jagdgeschwader 1 with remarks to Bernhard Kunze and the information his Nephew and Erich Mombeek gives to me these Bird will also get the right model: In the spoiler are more photos using a template prepared by myself with an own Normal Map and Alpha Layer. RaFiGer Posted March 11, 2021 Author Posted March 11, 2021 (edited) @Community While doing a rework of my Sturmstaffel 1 page for IL2-Forgotten Battles and working on a adapted Template (if you like take a look in the past? History and skins of the "Sturmstaffel 1" I though about a solution to overcome the "historical flaw" of the ingame Fw-190 A6 Sturmjäger. The only solution I found is using a different Norma Map for each skin, which is not supported by the Game. So for eye pleasure I will setup the paintschemes with a different Normal Map switching by a Batch File or using JSME Mod enabler. Here' the result taking Benhard Kunze Plane "White 12" of 1./JG 1 as example: 1. Normal Version as Fighter: 2. Version using 3 additional Armour Plates: 3. Version using 4 additional Armour Plates: The revamping of my page takes time and also work related issues for my next site job, so I you wish I could issue the links to the paintschemes here in this psot in advance Edited March 11, 2021 by RaFiGer 2 1 1
RaFiGer Posted March 11, 2021 Author Posted March 11, 2021 @Community Here's an example of a plane refittet with the 3 Armour plate Version really good documeted in the Booklet of Eric Moombeek (Sturmstaffel 1 - Reichsdefence 1943-1944 The War Diary). It is the plane which was flown early 1944 based at Dortmund by Gerhard Vivroux (Unteroffizier at that time). The Armour plates was painted in RLM 75 and 76 as base and don't fit to the scheme of the plane, which was common to the early Fw-190 A6 Sturmjäger, Protection was more important than the real colour fitting to the original scheme 2 1
RaFiGer Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 @Community The first batch of reworked Fw-190-A6 of Jagdgeschwader 1 is ready and I will over the weekend implement all skins in my related pages togehter with 2 version of Normal Maps stipulating the armour version with 3 or 4 plates. As standard like the public Templates are the 4 Platte Versions right now, for the later A8 models I use the than "standardised" 3 Plate Version Here are the new one's representing three Pilots with their personnel emblems on the left side of the plane: Focke Wulf 190-A6 Stab I./JG 1 "Weiße 5" Flown by Unteroffizier Rudolf Hübl 1./JG 1, Deelen, Holland, October 1943 Focke Wulf 190-A6 Stab I./JG 1 "Weiße 9" Flown by Leutnant Heinz-Günther Lück 1./JG 1, Schiphol, Holland, July 1943 Focke Wulf 190-A6 1./JG 1 "Weiße 11" Flown by Oberleutnant Heinz-Georg "Murr" Schott with 1./JG 1 Deelen, Holland, August 1943 4 6 1

RaFiGer Posted March 23, 2021 Author Posted March 23, 2021 (edited) @Community Fixing my adapted Template for the Fw-190 A-Models of the war planes used by JG 1 and JG 54 from 1943 to 1944 are nearly finalised so that my pages will be updated in regards. On my page you will find the paintschemes with an adapted Normal Map and on HSD later on schemes using ICDP public template Historical remark: These planes (A6 Versions) and the I./JG 1 don't used 1943 the additional armour which was only suited to the Sturmjäger Staffeln of first (1943) Sturmstaffel 1 and later the Fw-190-A8 Versions engaging the heavy bomber formation. JG 1 at that time mainly used agile fighter setups enabling them to handle also the Fighter's deployed together with the bombers. Despite using the lighter planes of course they scramble the bomber formation's during 1943 and beginning 1944. Special info regarding the big wings wave of Lück's plane. This plane is confirmed by photograph to have the bigger wave pattern, but not all plane did get this camouflage pattern! I'm struggling a bit using to HiRes Pictures and choose now a Resolution of 1920 pixel by 1080 pixel to reduse the bandwith. RaFiGer Posted December 17, 2021 Author Posted December 17, 2021 @Community Just a little update regarding JG 1 paint schemes: The 8th echelon of Jagdgeschwader 1 is now completed with 12 paint schemes representing the unit during Summer till early winter 1943. I will update my page and prior a new overworked booklet together with a download link to the complete 12 plane skin package. I will now do the same for the Bf-109 G6 of the 7./JG 1, with black and white spirals and white numerals The Unit as part of III./JG 1 also flew missions against Bomber formation’s together with I./JG 1 including the checkerboard Fw-190 A6 and A7 version while their birds had the airbase at Deelen as their homebase the units have to coordinate the mission related to cover the main attack routes of the daytime American and night-time British bombing aligned as the “Combined Bomber Offensive.” This plan formally established “around the clock” bombing of the enemy. Until D-Day in 1944, the priority targets were Germany’s fighter force and its ball-bearing and oil industries. 2 3

The use of the rocket launchers also demished and the 20 mm gondola cannons was refitted again fighting the now more and more intensifying U.S.A.A.F. formatings bombing the Reich. Therefore I release a second series of Bf-109 G planes covering late 1943 and beginning 1944 as now shown on the new pages in the still only preliminary booklet The comet symbol now was painted without an dark or black background color but showed an red outline around the comet symbol! Preliminary booklet with two paint schemes of Bf-109 G6 models with white RVT: RaFiGer JG 3 Booklet (preliminary and to be continued...) Edited December 28, 2021 by RaFiGer Additions... 3
RaFiGer Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 (edited) @Community I refer to serveral books showing pictures or profiles of the Bf-109 G planes used by III./JG 3 during summer 1943 up to beginning 1944, but my main resources with fantastic information's regading the units, their flight and flight plans, missions and outcome are the book series presented by Jochen Prien-Gerhard Stemmer-Peter Rodeike-Winfried Bock: Die Jagdfliegerverbände der Deutschen Luftwaffe 1934 bis 1945 Teil 10/11 - Reichsverteidigung 1943 (1.1.1943 bis 31.12.1943) - ISBN 978-3-923457-85-4 Struve's Buchdruckerei und Verlag On page 332 to 333 you find the markings for Propeller hoods and spirals used by the four echolons of III./JG 3. The actual spirals widthness/thickness differs partly as you can see on my paint schemes that are of course related to pictures from the book Edited December 28, 2021 by RaFiGer 4
