Flight to Oblivion..... almost

I love flying aerobatics in this sim. Since the patch I've been trying to come to grips with the new Fw-190A5. I really enjoy flying it. It dives like a brick. I love screaming down a runway from altitude, doing a hard pull up to bleed off energy, and then try to execute a neat hammerhead at the top to repeat the maneuver. Some are good, some not so much. So I keep practicing. After I do several, I enjoy watching the replay to see where I was good and not so good.

 

Using the F11 key for free flight, then the F12 to track my plane allows me a airshow type view. I know you all know that. It's a pretty sweet feature. I wish the F12 view had a longer distance it would track a plane as sometimes I go too far and it will lose its lock on me. Today, it damn near gave me a heart attack.

 

Because others are watching TV, I've got the sound volume turned down. I'm watching my Fw scream towards the clouds, seemingly without effort. Just as it approaches its apex in the climb, I see.... THE BSOD. OMG!!!! Not now!?!? The sim is running so well. I can't really afford a new build, not right now. But I can't not continue flying BoX. I'm having too much fun. Oh, the anguish!!! I sit there looking at the blue screen for a couple of minutes.... wait a second.... what's that towards the bottom edge of the screen???? Doh.... wisps of clouds.... the game is still running.

 

 

Yes, sad to say, I am that dumb. But I do feel a certain amount of relief. I can handle dumb.
