StaB/Tomio_VR*** Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) I noticed in the chat bar that there is really a lot of pilots asking for best settings with german bomber engines... I also see a lot of guys taking off and burning their engine(s) within 90 seconds... Reading manuals is not enough here as it provide only "safe" settings which doesn't allow to be the fastest possible which is essential to defend yourself in those weak planes. I am primarily a fighter pilot but sometimes i can fly bombers but never without my fighter spirit of being the fastest possible at any time... I use those settings for taking off and then to climb or not depending plane and situation. Most of the time, i use Ju-88 but it also works with Ju-87 and Heinkel 111 !!! One setting for 3 planes, easy to remember^^ -------------------- Here they are : Gas Throttle 92 RPM 88 = 1.32 ata -------------------- You can maintain those settings for : - 30mn on Ju-88 !!! (Excedeed time after 25mn but works any 5mn however) - 20mn on Ju-87 and He-111 (Excedeed time around 16-17 mn) As you can notice, the Ju-88 allows to use this setting quite a lot of time With those settings, this plane is really the Wunderbomber With 4x250 kg and 28 SC50, it is as fast as the 110E2 (combat mode with 2x500 kg) at low altitude. Hard to believe but true. Therefore with internal loadout only (28 SC50), it's almost as fast as a Pe-2 !!! If those settings displays Take-off mode, use keyboard keys for better accuracy to display Climb mode. Several attempts may be needed but it works. Enjoy ! Edited March 3, 2017 by 64sTomio 1
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) You can run those for 30 mins also on HE-111 JU88 As they both have the same engine (Well same engine different model with ju88 engine make an extra 200hp @ sea lvl)(JU88,HE-111,FW190 D series All same engine just 88 has round radiators and shutters on front giving it a radial look)I almost always use 88% / 88% in HE-111 and JU88 as my general power setting as few WoL sorties last over 30 mins i can run non stop climb powerHowever if you level off then prop rpm can spike above 90% into take off power and if you do this enough you will get engine damage as its 1min Take off power Total Accumulated not 1min in a single burst that resets. MurderFalke Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 9 times out of 10 i steadily climb using 85/85 depending on Bomb load 1
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 (edited) If you are climbing steep 6m/s + you can run 88% power and 88% prop easily and hold this for 30 mins! Also I was WRONG about power reset due to bad info i was given :DThe Takeoff power resets about Every 10 minutesI can run max take off power for 55 Seconds and hold 11M/s @ 250kph from 1.5K - 2.2K in 1 minute with 3.6T max bombload & 20% fuelThis applies toHE-111(h6,h-16)JU-88 Edited April 15, 2017 by =R4T=Sshadow14
MurderFalke Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 great information there Shadow, thanks.I would add this is probably more effective for solo flying trying to cut it as fine as you can. but it's harder to keep formation/synchronization between more than one HE-111. as i mostly fly in formations i find it a lot easier to coordinate climbing with other ships at a lower power setting as you have that head room for increasing/decreasing throttle as needed, not to mention a sliiight slight difference in power between the H-6 and H-16. I'd say overall the setting of 85/85 for Formations is ideal, and your settings for solo flying.
[_FLAPS_]Grim Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 85/85? I get over the 1.1ata with that settings and damage my engines sooner or later...thats odd
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 We run 85/85 in a climb of 5 to 7 M/S ..but when at our altitude (less than 30 min) we back it down to 75/75. You need to watch your oil/rad temps as well. Over heat or over cool and you'll cook it.
[_FLAPS_]Grim Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Ok so 85/85 should be fine for the 30min climb setting? I will give that a try.
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) you can only run like 88% 88% IN A CLIMB the steep climb prevent the engines from reving higher and reaching the limits..Its pushing the engines hard thoASLONG as it says you are in climb power you are..Game does not seem to care about actual ATA or rpm but the indicated power %% Eg, Climb mode is climb mode and will last 30 mins. be it 84% or 88%ASLONG as it does not flick into and out of Take off mode.Regarding formation flying with those settingsYes the lead plane must fly at 80% 80% or so this allows the others to use upto 88% 88% and stay in form. Also with those settings its nice then 111 can lead formation of 88's @ 330kph climbing 4m/s-6m/s with 3.6T external load @ 20% fuel Edited April 18, 2017 by =R4T=Sshadow14 1
