curiousGamblerr Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Hey folks, Looking for advice from others who have ordered MFG Crosswinds. I ordered a pair in January, and my expected shipping date was February 15-28. I didn't hear anything during that time so on March 1 I sent them an email but haven't gotten a response yet. I don't mind waiting, but given I've ordered a new stick to go with them, I just want to make sure my order is still being processed and nothing terrible like a mistaken cancellation has happened. What was your experience ordering Crosswinds? Was the expected order date at all accurate? If you contacted support, were they responsive? I really don't want to sound impatient here- I'll get them when I get them, it's no problem. It would just suck if something happened to my order and it wasn't even in progress, ya know?
GrendelsDad Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Curious my pedels came about 2 weeks later than promised. I ordered them a few months in advance. I would keep being impatient but I wouldn't worry one bit. I heard back from support a day or 2 after my inquiry.

II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Mine took about 75 days stateside. Came about two weeks late. He usually takes a couple of days to answer my emails as well. It is worth the wait........................
Bando Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 It may be slow, but Milan usually answers. His pedals are definitely worth the wait. If he said they'll come, they'll come. In my view the man is 100% trustworthy. 1
sinned Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 My black mfg came about 2 months from the day of ordering. It was on time indicated from shipping schedule. Very nice set of pedals. If your wife asks what it is, just tell her it is foot exercise machine. Hopefully, there arent negative reviews on the internet cuz someone will feel good about himself for not buying one. Hehe.
dburne Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 IIRC mine took about 6 weeks and Milan's communication during the process was excellent. Don't sweat it, they are so worth the wait!
BOO Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 I thought mine were due in one batch (per the website) but they came a month later. Milan always replied, maybe a couple of days later. never took the money until despatch date was confirmed. Totally trust MFG
Blutaar Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) Uff i remember waiting a long time to get them shipped, maybe it felt longer then it was because of "waiting". Sry couldnt find the invoice, i guess 2-3 months, S/N 1253 somewhere mid 2016 if i remember correct. I fully trusted Milan because he had already a very good reputation and he was allways nice, so i can recommend him and his product, its awesome and the new graphite paint looks great, wish i had one of those. LLv24_SukkaVR Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I waited about a week after the expected shipping date until i sent email to Milan asking when he would ship them, he said he had some problems (i dont remember with what) and he said he was sorry, 2-3 days later i got email that the pedals were shipped. Be patient, he will ship them eventually. Enjoy your new pedals, they are the best
curiousGamblerr Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 Thanks all! I can confirm everyone's comments on Milan being very nice- he responded to my email and was very apologetic for the delay. But they're coming! I hardly mind the wait, since the accompanying stick isn't here yet, I was just worried I'd goofed the order or something. Thanks again for all the comments. 1
BlitzPig_Bill_Kelso Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I ordered mine on December 26th and they were on my doorstep by Feb. 8th. Expected ship time was January 15-31 based on order date from December 5th through the 31st.
OrLoK Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Ive just been invoiced by milan (i paid via paypal) and mine are due to ship by the latest the 25th. Ill let you know how it goes. (oh any tips for setting up with il2?)
dburne Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 (edited) Ive just been invoiced by milan (i paid via paypal) and mine are due to ship by the latest the 25th. Ill let you know how it goes. (oh any tips for setting up with il2?) Congrats! You are in for a real treat! Just go to his website and view the tutorial vids he has, they are very good, and you will be well prepared for assembly. It only takes a few minutes to assemble. Download the latest software while you are at it. Once assembled and plugged up, just set up the pedals in the software you downloaded, calibrate while you are in there and off you go. Don't forget to calibrate the toe brakes as well. If you happen to change the pedal angle at any point you will need to recalibrate as well including toe brakes. I have been running mine since Dec 2015 and they are wonderful. OrLoK Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Excellent! any issues with setting up in BoX? Preferred binds?
dburne Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Excellent! any issues with setting up in BoX? Preferred binds? I had none ( just set up BoS little over week ago). I think I put my curve around 15%. BoS recognized it just fine. Pretty sure I had to tick invert on the rudder axis.
OrLoK Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 splendid!, I'll keep you all informed of my joys and woes with it!
Jade_Monkey Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 It may take a bit longer but they will get there. Milan does a superb job, these puppies are worth the wait.
OrLoK Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Oh, im a patient one. I know things go wrong and *stuff* happens. But I *am* excited.
OrLoK Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Arggh! Had a dream that they turned up and were made of cheap thin plywood and were not even cut to shape. They worked really well though...
OrLoK Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Update: they shopped to DPD on the 25 but were only collected today. They're on their way!
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Ummm...I have a set, are you saying they're not supposed to be made from plywood?
dburne Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 (edited) Ummm...I have a set, are you saying they're not supposed to be made from plywood? They are not made of wood. I am well familiar with the substrate Milan uses for the Crosswind Pedals as I was in that industry for 36 years. It is a high pressure composite material made with Phenolic resin, a very tough man made substrate. It falls into the plastics family, but is a Thermoset rather than a Thermoplastic. Meaning when it has been heated and pressed to shape, it will remain that shape - can't be thermoformed like a thermoplastic can be. It is solid and extremely durable. Commonly used in the making of gears and other high performance parts. Extremely durable. And certainly not a cheap material. For these pedals, that substrate will last forever. OrLoK Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 There does seem to be some confusio about the HPL used in the crosswinds. A casual google of HPL give a far more "woody" idea to those of us not au fait with the subject. If a layman were to pick up a pedal would his first thought be "this is plastic"? "This is wood covered in laminate"? Or "this is some freaky new stuff ive never encountered"?
curiousGamblerr Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 I think Stick was joking about the plywood dburne... Anyway, OrLok to answer your question, my first thought is "plastic" or "some freaky new stuff" - definitely very tough either way. As dburne said, they feel like they will last forever. I haven't used my pair much since my accompanying stick has been delayed but so far they seem pretty awesome. Excited to get my new stick and build them both into a pit contraption and get flying more often. 1
OrLoK Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Interesting. Im kinda imagining bakelite as a guesstimate.

OrLoK Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Grrr its still stuck in Zagreb. Bet the delivery guys are playing with it, the lucky simmers...
uk_recce Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Mine are in Zagreb as well, Split yesterday and showing Zagreb since 00:31 today, can't wait!!!
OrLoK Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) Ohhh same batch! Bet i get mine first! Edited April 28, 2017 by OrLoK
sinned Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Depends on your siting posture, I found it helpful to incline the pedals. When you use toe breaks, default incline angle is at 90, making it difficult to transpose necessary pressure to the pedals. Also, i need pdelas close to my feet, so i use bluetack to posit them securely.
uk_recce Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) If my seat and pedals are on about the same level will this cause a problem with the operation of the pedals and toe brakes? Edited April 28, 2017 by uk_recce
sinned Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Pedal no. Toe brk.... most likely. You may not b able to fully press the brks physically.
BOO Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 If my seat and pedals are on about the same level will this cause a problem with the operation of the pedals and toe brakes? There's a good amount of adjustment that can be done with the pedal angle that may help although at steeper angles the base may need to be raised to stop the pedals scraping on the floor. You'll just need to run the set up flash thing if you change them from factory. Easy enough. Adjusting the curves in the flash (I only used it once when I first got the pedals so I cant remember details) may also help (ie setting 100% at an earlier point of travel) but you may loose some "finesse" due to the smaller range. Regards BOO
=EXPEND=Dendro Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Who does Milan use for shipping, is it a courier?
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Who does Milan use for shipping, is it a courier? When mine got to the US I believe it was DHL.
OrLoK Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 My carrier to the UK is DPD but seems to be stuck in Zagreb for the past week. Damn holidays!
dburne Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 My carrier to the UK is DPD but seems to be stuck in Zagreb for the past week. Damn holidays! Mine showed stuck in FL (the import point) when they arrived to the states up until the time they were delivered to me - just suddenly showed up when I least expected.
