Capt_Stubing Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 While messing around and looking away from the cockpit I've managed to hit F10 and save a position of the camera/head outside of the cockpit facing down. I can't find any way to reset it so far.
LordNeuro*Srb* Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 F10 saves the postion u make as default. U can use page up and page down to move position of "head" up and down and delete and end to move it left and right. Just use those kays to make the positoin u wont and then hit F10 agen. I hope it helps.
BMA_West Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Thou before you start doing what LN says you have to pause your trackir. Mouse may also help in positioning the view for saving.
Matt Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\LuaScripts\snapviews\ Open either bf109f4.svc or lagg3s29.svc with a text editor. Your first line will look similar to this: cvc = 0.000, 0.000, 0.560, 0.056, 0.000, -1.000; Change the first values to 0.000, 0.000 like in the above example. That means that you'll look straight forward. Or deactivate TrackIR and use the mouse to adjust.
ImPeRaToR Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 you could also remove the svc files and see if the launcher redownloads themAlways a good idea to keep a backup copy of the snapviews folder.
Capt_Stubing Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 Thanks for the replies... Very frustrating but I had to play with the different camera modes then move it back into position (no TIR) and save. Wow that one will get you lost quick.
Igitur Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Pause your trackIR, hit numpad 5 to reset the view (or is it numpad * ?), hit F10 to save.
Matt Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Pause your trackIR, hit numpad 5 to reset the view (or is it numpad * ?), hit F10 to save. That won't help, because he overwrote his numpad 5 view by pressing F10 before. Numpad 5 view is the default view. If you look around (with TrackIR, mouse or hatswitch, won't matter) and hit F10, you will save your numpad 5 view to the current position as the new default view.
J4SCrisZeri Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 thank you all, I was getting crazy about a similar problem myself
NobbyNobbs Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Always a good idea to keep a backup copy of the snapviews folder. Another one? I mean "snapviews" folder contains the folder called "defaults" which contains default *.svc files :-)
Sokol1 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Always a good idea to keep a backup copy of the snapviews folder. And is a good idea add a security key in F-10 (Alt, Ctrl, Shift, Win...) - this command should have this "security cap" be default, in the way that is only serves for people mess the POV. 1

Indeed. Thankfully, if you have TrackIR and it is not paused hitting the button is a no-op, IIRC.

It's just one of those annoying things Scendore, I have to fix the IL-2 position (I can't see through the gunsight lol)
Ace_Pilto Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Heh, that darn F-10 key. I'd delete the assignment in controls too, hitting it by accident is a nuisance.
Fixxxer46 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Coming from DCS, i quickly reassigned that button to something else. (F10 brings up the map in DCS, now imagine the carnage) That last entry before the semicolon in the "custom line" sets the FOV. So once youve found one to your liking (mine's 350), copy and paste to other planes to keep it consistent.
