Specific features or changes are regularly discussed in threads outside of the DD or update threads. Quit with the polemic and stop trolling my posts. "What a mess. They really don't send their best. SAD!" I haven't noticed too much of a difference yet... but I only had a short chance to fly last night. What have you found? I haven't noticed much of a difference but I rarely play outside 1v1 or 1v2 duels.
Lusekofte Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I flew some missions to test the LA 5f and FW 190 a5 . PE 2 turned and banked but tried to stay in formation. When I flew the LA 5 the IL 2 I suppose to escort stole 3 of my kills But I did not put ordinance on them, so I think they believed they where fighters

Lusekofte Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Well what I get from this is development of AI behaviour , No AI in any game was ever a genius . I think this is the greatest challenge in flight simulator. The best we ever can hope for is continuous development . In QMB I did not see a ganging pattern for the 3 hours I flew, I almost exclusively fly bombers , so I found myself amused by how rubbish shot I was in both FW 190 A5 and LA 5F . But how quickly I improved. Never really had so much fun in single player ever.

LLv24_Zami Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Personally I haven`t seen any AI ganging in my SP missions so far after the patch. Let`s hope it is gone at least for the most part. Overall I am quite pleased with AI improvements over last two patches.

I haven't had time to fly SP yet, but I will give my thoughts as soon as I get to do a few sorties in PWCG 3

The "steel snake" campaign mission was always a nightmare as every 109 would chase my poor I-16 and my wingmen were off doing heaven knows what. 1 vs. 1 I can deal with an E7 but 1 vs. the entire Luftwaffe is a bit more dicey.

This is good news.

Could have been my choice of Orders>>Attack Nearest Ground Target when we were about 1 km from our target airfield. My flight broke right as a formation and climbed up to orbit 5 km from the target amongst our escort without dropping their bombs. On my next sortie I tried Orders>>Do Like Me. They all bombed but missed our target (artillery). I was unable to get them to reattack (perhaps the enemy AI around the target prevented this). I made three additional passes and tried Orders>>Do Like Me prior to each pass without any luck. Perhaps there is a parameter I didn't satisfy when I gave the order. Good news however...the enemy AI didn't gang up on me. This is a great change. Plus my P-40 flight members attacked and downed two 109s. All in all, I appreciate the AI change and agree I don't feel like a one man show anymore (except for ground attack). Edited March 3, 2017 by busdriver 1

I found that I can make two to three attack runs before the ai roles in. The second reason is that all the ai target one ground object. If you manage to destroy that target the AI aborts and you need to order them again. If you play with markers on you would see that one objective has a squire bracket around it. That is the target the ai will go for. If you ignore that one you will find that your AI buddies take it out. 1

busdriver Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 As a followup to Redeye Storm's post. I just flew and recorded a BoM P-40 mission. Our flight of four was assigned to strafe a supply column, we had an escort of four other P-40s. Approaching the target I gave the order to Attack Nearest Ground Target while I remained in level flight passing several km beyond the target area. My flight flung their bombs in steep banks (30-60 degrees) not steep dives, more than 2 km prior to reaching the target. I returned and dropped. My flight stayed in the vicinity of the target as I frequently repeated Attack Nearest Ground Target while I flew "dry" passes over the target or flew a wide orbit. Finally I strafed but none of my flight strafed. I got the mission complete message and fairly quickly all three flew into the ground. If you notice on the horizon you'll see the chevrons of my icon over the red squares of the target column about 1 km away. The good news, is one of my wingmen destroyed a 109 after dropping his bomb (nowhere near the target), and the 109s didn't gang up on me. Not so good news...I did watch four 109s land or try to. They had been fighting us near/over their airfield. Two of them kept "going around" (rejected/balked landing) even while in the landing flair.
