trust me, if you can't play it without VR you can't play it with it either :P

not really since i don't have any other way to track my head movements, and for me the resolution is not a problem at all

Was VR Support added with this update? Is this the february update, or the march one?

Has anyone had problems with Ju52 AIs not taking off as they were supposed to do? In a dogfight mission they were doing fine before this patch but now they are taking off at all? Any ideas?  :huh:

 

I'll be doing some testing as soon as I'm updated here.

I'll let you know.

The AI in my missions work just fine still, at least in the mission I just tested.

I fly the La5 pretty much exclusively, I even flew it around once before I updated the game so I could compare, the flight characteristics with flaps out has definitely changed (Much less pitch authority, like the LaGG).

 

With full flaps you can deflect the stick all the way back without inducing a stall, you could never do this before. :)

 

As long as it's closer to the real aircraft, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. But once you've been used to how an aircraft handles for so long, obviously it's a bit disappointing to have to rethink how you fly it.

Oh you meant how is it disappointing that you can pitch all the way back without stalling? Because your best turning ability is on the cusp of a stall, and you can't achieve that, at least with 70% flaps or more. 

 

most flight engineers are disappointed as they never practice what they preach in real life. I think it should be mandatory for a flight engineer to be a pilot first then learn physics?

 

as with flaps at more than 70% I would say that's almost stalling the plane itself; it's like a airbreak on the bottom of the plane. that position of the flap is like stopping the vacuum effect under the wing, as you may know a wing is like a surfboard, 

 

when angled at the correct AoA the water acts like a vacuum sucking the board up on top of the water, same goes for a wing in the air, the air runs over the top of the wing at a AoA and sucks or creates a vacuum under the wing making it float into the air, creating lift.

 

you stop that vacuum effect from happening the plane will stall and fall.

Your explanation is incorrect, there is a low pressure above the airfoil and a high pressure below the airfoil. The included diagrams explain it very clearly so I'm assuming your understanding doesn't match what you've typed. :P

thus its low flow which in itself is a vacuum effect, read carefully "Vacuum effect"..which to me is almost a vacuum.. low pressure just like a Tornado. high pressure under the wing low pressure over the wing.

 

and you read it wrong, the title above those pictures say incorrect theory did you even read it? go read the NASA papers. there is a link.

yea, I see I reversed the low and high, sorry I'm not an english major; like some of you smarty pants out there, that like to boast your intelligence. I'm just a simple Correctional Officer you guys like to refer to us as knuckle dragging guards.I have a passion for another life as a wannabe pilot. and its a hobbie I like to learn ever since my little buddy gave me a right seat tour in a Cessna 172RG, I have been hooked on flight, I can not get my pilot license as I have had a sever injury from my job to my lower back, which was fused L5-S1. so I'm not medically cleared to fly.

I just have to say again how impressed I am by the team of late.

Since 2000, who here can name a sim that had such consistent updates, communication with the customer base, and delivered updates on target and ahead of schedule? I certainly cant think of one.

Ive thrown a lot of stones at the devs for various things in the past, and I'm fully prepared to sit down to a big, steaming plate of crow. Ive heard it tastes almost like chicken, but gamey. We shall see.

 

Hats off to Jason and the team. Your passion for this genre is apparent in all the work you do and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to throw my money at you guys.

I just tried the Novosokolniki Winter map in Quick Mission and it came back with an error:

 

' #10039 this map is not available for your account' 

 

- anybody else have this? Not been a problem before this update.

Seriously? Here we go with the bickering already. Flight dynamics and lift are quite easily explained. Here is professional breakdown of what actually occurs during flight...

 

And I know this is correct because I'm never wrong. I also shook hands with an aeronautical engineer once, this makes me an expert.

 

In all seriousness, lighten up folks, go fly our beautiful pixel planes and be happy. :biggrin:

Just tested, had the same issue.

 

On the other hand, great update! Flew the Fw190-A5 offline against AI and i wasnt ganged up on. Might try the p40 offline again thanks to this.

I totally believe in your diagram, having flown 100 ton aircraft and even having had to do quite a bit of studying on the subject along the way, everytime I watch an aircraft take to the air particularly anything over 6 tons I have to put my studies aside and accept PFM theory

PFM is also often used in aviation to describe some of the more complex systems that are encountered

 

Do not worry Mastiff all aeronautical engineers, rocket scientists and test pilots were also the same as you when soiling their nappies, and remain the same now when sitting on the crapper, enthusiasm for flight and aircraft also makes you their equal

Second of all I think I have a new cause for the SJW around the world: The prejudice against bombers.

 

I know most people like flying fighters, the market ask for it and the company needs money. But next time try to be more attentive with the "heavies".

Maybe a different view on resource approach and time table could have squeezed a few more mods for the 111 H16. 

 

After all people don´t like flying bombers because is it really boring or not made interesting enough ??

 

I hope in the future we can have some kind of paid mod expasion pack or any other measure to correct some injustices.

 

The only funny side is that bombers are so rare on line right now that enemy fighters usually dont know how to approach and attack one.

Hi devs and awesome job on this update !

 

I'm a bit disapointed about the H16 loadouts, only 3 unlocks and all of them already common on the H6... I was expecting a bit more from this update, like parachute containers, illuminating flares or maybe fixed forward firing 13mm.

 

Still a pleasure to fly though.

What... the 2500kg isn't enough? :D 

 

I'm actually pretty amazed at just how different the H-16 is internally compared to the H-6. All of those defensive gun upgrades are significant.

Bomber pilots are a minority? What about transport pilots?? We still don't have waist gunners and Condorhaube for the Ju 52 :(

True but I also think some people prefer to have new planes be considerably different than what we already have. However, that's ultimately a game design choice. An updated 111, I imagine, wouldn't take as long to create as a completely new aircraft and I'm sure the team at some point evaluated whether that was better than putting in a whole new aircraft or the unique mods for it. Also, what other medium bombers are there to put in for LW?

 

In the case of the 111, I can understand their choice. On VVS you have the opposite case. It is time for something completely new and there are also available planes yet to be modeled, so from that pool they chose the A-20B. And I can't wait

It's a matter of opinion. Other people might think "considerably different" would be a new Medium bomber and not the H-6 to H-26 jump.

 

Personally, I agree with you. I was just explaining that I don't think he "just wants more" but rather thinks the efforts in making a new He-111 model should have been redirected into the creation of another aircraft.

Just gave the new engines a run out. Moscow Autumn map, 500m, alt.

Highest La-5 M-82F speed - 545 IAS with cowls closed, overheats quite quickly (of course). 

With the U-17 mod:

Highest 190F3 speed (ammo but no bombs, 10 min boost) - 580 IAS
Highest 190F3 speed (ammo and bombs, 10 min boost) - 525 IAS

Highest 190F3 speed (No Bombs, Combat Power, bomb racks) - 525 IAS

 

That 580 for 10 mins is SO fast!!

Minor errors:

 

- In QMB the He-111H-16 is listed above the -6, should prob be below for consistency (pace the A-3 and A-5). I picked wrong plane as result.

- In -16 Blotches cammo, Gruppe called "Grief". Should be "Greif".

I remember the first time I saw a C5A Galaxy on finals.

 

How it stays in the air is just... magic.

 

Even today when I see a lowly Cessna 150 fly over, I always look up at it, and revel in the fact that us lowly ground crawling bags of proteins and water watched some birds and said, "I can do that", and we did.

Hi,

 

Got small problem in off line dogfight 1 vs 1: me on A3 vs IA in A5.

 

The A5 disapear at middle range. Just with this plane, never A3 vs A3 for example.

 

Anyone has saw the same problem? :

 

 

Edit : this problem seems gone today but came back few minutes ago (a problem in random mode for me so)

Technology isn't about can and can't, it's about how. If we currently don't have the ability to do something, it's only a matter of time before we figure out how.

 

And of course the people that invented all of this stuff said "I can do that". Innovation is never performed by people who think they can't do something
