Bando Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Best dev team EVER!!!! I'm so thrilled with the AI improvements. Wow!! Thanks a bunch!!
[DBS]El_Marta Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 He 111 trim corrected for FFB Sticks.
purK Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Awesome update! Although the La5 changes are a bit disappointing, the flight characteristics with flaps down seems... strange. Much less effective at slow speed now than it was before, and it was already pretty lacking in slow speed handling compared to most other aircraft here. Edited February 28, 2017 by [TWB]Krupski

Much less effective at slow speed now than it was before, and it was already pretty lacking in slow speed handling compared to most other aircraft here. All that matters is how close the aircraft in the sim is modeled to the real thing, not other planes in the sim. What do we know about low speed handling in the real aircraft?
ema33ig Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Surprise, thank you! 1. Fw 190 A-5 fighter is available for Battle of Kuban owners <<<< Great! 9. He 111 H-6 trim corrected for FFB joysticks << Great! Edited February 28, 2017 by ema33ig
szelljr Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 This new skins is just incredible!! i love the HE night skins.

Flight model is still the same, just pre-stall shaking starts later.
Scojo Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Flight model is still the same, just pre-stall shaking starts later. Probably just the usual post patch placebo effect
Finkeren Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Flight model is still the same, just pre-stall shaking starts later. Which probably is making some people who are used to pushing it a bit beyond the point, where the buffetting starts, stall all over the place, hence making it seem like it handles worse. 1./KG4_Ben_C Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 As someone who flies the He-111 pretty much exclusively this news pleases me.
purK Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) I fly the La5 pretty much exclusively, I even flew it around once before I updated the game so I could compare, the flight characteristics with flaps out has definitely changed (Much less pitch authority, like the LaGG). With full flaps you can deflect the stick all the way back without inducing a stall, you could never do this before. As long as it's closer to the real aircraft, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. But once you've been used to how an aircraft handles for so long, obviously it's a bit disappointing to have to rethink how you fly it. Edited February 28, 2017 by [TWB]Krupski
Dakpilot Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Updated with no issues, all seems fine so far Great pace of work output! time to try out the new toys Thanks for the new SP missions to all involved Cheers dakpilot

StaB/Tomio_VR*** Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) (Not at home) How many rounds in the 2x20mm gunpods in the 190 A5 ? How long 1.65 ata works with U17 modification ? Edited February 28, 2017 by 64sTomio

Scojo Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I guess I just don't see how you can be disappointed in what I would think is an improvement for the plane
DD_Arthur Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 What a pleasant surprise to come home to after a crap day at work! Thanks very much to all the Team at 1CGS!
purK Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I guess I just don't see how you can be disappointed in what I would think is an improvement for the plane Oh you meant how is it disappointing that you can pitch all the way back without stalling? Because your best turning ability is on the cusp of a stall, and you can't achieve that, at least with 70% flaps or more.
JG4_Sputnik Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Finally the "real" Focke joined the club Now bring on VR and I'll take hollydays
II/JG11_ATLAN_VR Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Thx HAIL to the devs again horrido
Nil Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Amazing!! Thank you! Any chance to also get the specification page for 190 and the HE? And how much speed does the 190 lose with the double 20mm gunpods? If its not too much trouble for you of course! <3 Sorry I did not red entirely you request, Here you go for the 190A5 Specifications Modifications Heinkel 111 H16 : see below! senseispcc Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Great news once again, still a long road but a nice way to Berlin!
III/JG2Gustav05 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Fantastic! Thanks for the nice surprise devs and congrats to Coconut, Juri and Qi for getting your work included in the update. My great pleasure to do sth for this great sim. I am a little surprised that Han uses my legal name instead of Gustav in this update. 1
Brano Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Early La-5Fs were fitted with the old-style canopy, so it's best to just call it an "La-5F (Early)". Ehm...no... Let's call it like we should. La-5 Type 37 with M-82F engine 4
Roo5ter Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Que que question. Isn't there a dev roadmap somewhere that says what order the aircraft for BoK are to be released in? I can't seem to find it but I am positive it is in front of my face somewhere.
Y29.Layin_Scunion Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 That's not what I've read. IIRC the ASh-82F was pretty much identical to its predecessor in how it was fitted. Just some minor internal improvements to strengthen it and make lubrication more efficient, which allowed longer time between overhauls and therefore eliminated the need to impose restrictions on boost. None of this would make it impossible to fit an ASh-82F to a standard La-5 airframe. Definitely correct. There was no outlying modification to the engine that would have it not fit. It was pretty much exclusive to being internal. The first M-82Fs used were put into La-5 airframes and designated La-5 M-82F. Not La-5F.
johnmw54 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 good update, but i just can't play the game without vr
Asgar Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 trust me, if you can't play it without VR you can't play it with it either 3
ADorante Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) 23. AI pilots are less likely to target the player plane; If this works, I'll assume many people will be very happy Edited February 28, 2017 by ADorante
Zappatime Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I just tried the Novosokolniki Winter map in Quick Mission and it came back with an error: ' #10039 this map is not available for your account' - anybody else have this? Not been a problem before this update.
BMA_FlyingShark Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 More good news, I just noticed that the horizontal needle on the Lorenz navigation system is now functional too.
gnomechompsky Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 This is my impression of the AI now, would be useful to compare with others: I tested against the "Scramble!" mission on the scripted campaign "Ivan's War" because I remember it being very difficult. Before it was pretty much impossible to complete without cheesing (i.e. flying off) with 4 x Yak (inc player) vs 8 x BF109 or BF110. This time it was much easier, I didn't see any AI snakes behind me and I managed to take down 2 x BF110 and damage several others before my plane became complete swiss cheese. 1
PicksKing Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Is it just me or is the FW190A5 really kickass? Even in dogfights it turns very fast and stable considering its own weight. I always liked the FWs more than the Bf in any flight sim. Nice to see that also in IL-2 it deserves the name "butcher bird". 2

CUJO_1970 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 The development team seems to have a habit of running ahead of schedule, something almost unheard of in flight sims. Well done gentlemen.
ShamrockOneFive Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) Que que question. Isn't there a dev roadmap somewhere that says what order the aircraft for BoK are to be released in? I can't seem to find it but I am positive it is in front of my face somewhere. Jason provided us with some information on what was coming when back at the last Q&A. I wrote it all down and put it in a blog post: https://stormbirds.wordpress.com/2016/12/07/battle-of-kuban-what-content-is-coming-and-when/ Take some of it with a grain of salt because the schedule seems to have accelerated from what was originally announced. =gRiJ=Roman- Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Has anyone had problems with Ju52 AIs not taking off as they were supposed to do? In a dogfight mission they were doing fine before this patch but now they are taking off at all? Any ideas?
HippyDruid Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 New planes. Awesome! Nice work all round on the update. It's always nice to hear the developers making use of the talented members of this community. Well done lads!
