[Solved] Best way to render video from a track with AMD card?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have an AMD Rx 480 which means I don't have shadowplay.

I have been using something called OBS or Open Broadcaster Studio that was recommended to me, but my videos always come out grainy and it's impossible to see e.g. yaks against the trees.

Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of render settings or a better software suite for capturing video?

Figured it out.

For anyone else who comes here via search, I'm using the following settings.

Bitrate: 2500 (was the default)

Resolution: Native res for my monitor

Encoder: x264 (hardware)

Encoder preset: ultrafast

Custom encoder settings: crf=15

Recording quality: one step down from lossless, doesn't seem to be a problem in terms of quality.

If your using the latest driver use Relive, I do I record 1440p 60fps at 50mbps. It looks amazing. There is a issue in borderless do not bring up the overlay as it will drop your frames, it's fine in fullscreen though. The overlasy bug only happenes on IL-2 in borderless.

Thanks for this JG13 - Just discovered OBS today since I found I had to sign up for the newest version of shadowplay and didn't want to give any more information to another company.
