Is that the way soviet pilots used to slow down their planes instead of using breaks or should it prove they were always ready to kick someone's a...?

Those are the legs of the planes mechanic lying below the pilots seat, checking details during workshop flight AND dying with the pilot if he made an error. Rough manners, those Soviets. Nice detail, never realized they simulated it

When modders in IL 2 46 played around with pilot models we had this in several planes. I loved the HS 129 and a pilot mod did this on this specific plane, I had to delete the mod for being able to enjoy the plane
