Midi-mixers

Would it possible to use Midi-Mixers in Il-2/DCS?
I stumbled upon one for a fair price, and can see some possibilities if they indeed would work as a plug and play.

I think it can probably be done, though not as 'plug and play'. I seem to remember seeing a thread about doing this with IL-2 '46 (possibly on the banana forum? http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/forumdisplay.php?s=84fd8740e721e6c5a359d09c6a225698&f=98). It needs virtual joystick software for the sliders though, and from what I remember, is quite involved.
