KG4, An established bomber focused squadron

Hello,

 

KG4 is open for recruitment of bomber pilots & flak magnets.  We are generally UK/Europe but we do have pilots from the USA also.

 

KG4 is an established bomber focused squadron (We've been active since Feb 17 so we're not 'new' anymore) flying group bombing missions primarily in the He-111 (H-6 & H-16) & Ju-88.  We also fly out in other aircraft types but our role remains ground attack.  Our goal is to provide a relaxed, adult environment that doesn't take itself too seriously but still flies in a (semi!) professional manner.

 

KG4 exists to bring together like minded pilots to fly the 111 and other bombers online as a group.  Our ethos is not to be concerned with personal scoreboards but to fly as a group and to enjoy the challenges of flying bombers in formation, navigating to a target (we prefer servers using expert settings with no map icons), carrying out the bomb run and returning home again.  If that sounds like your kind of flying then hopefully KG4 will interest you.

 

Since the start of KG4 back in 2017 we've had people come and people go, as it always is with online groups, but we've a good core of regular pilots and regularly have 5 aircraft up on a squadron night. Our group nights are generally Tues, Thurs & Sunday evenings.  Our squadron nights are not a compulsory attendance.  KG4 members have real lives, real jobs and real families and those always come first.

 

We use discord as our means of arranging flights and to generally take the piss out of each other.

Good luck with your bomber squadron. I once lead a bomber squadron too, called the "Wrecking Bombardiers" in the Old Il-2 '46.

Spent about four hours flying with the KG4 group. It was nice to fly with some like minded bomber guys.They know the SOP for how to conduct bomber op's, fly in formation and so on. Something I have been missing since the 20thBG dissolved. I'll join up if they offer. They are very good about holding formation,dropping on target and staying on target even if they are getting shot at. Thanks guys, that was the best fun I've had in a while! Look forward to more flights with ya'll.

Atm I'm really new to all this and just battling to keep my bird in the air, engine management is doing my head in but early days yet.

Joining with a group of guys that know what they are doing is the fastest and most efficient way to master those controls.  Real time communication makes engine settings just a question away.

In the 111 there is no engine settings but only 3 really.

Take off
Full power (can be run 1 minute then allowed to reset 5 mins and run 1 minute again when needed)

Climb
85% power 85% prop for normal cruise climb
or 90% power and 88% prop if you climb around 5m/s @ 320kph with 3.6T (Both can be run 30 minutes non stop)

Cruise
75% power and 75% prop for normal cruise (tho often little point and just run 85% 85% for full 30 mins on most maps)

Do you mean Power = Trottle  and Prop = RPM ? or something else?

Just finished my first flight with Kampfgeschwader 4 and all i can say is i had an absolute blast. Great group that knows their S**t, cool under fire and a great sense of humor to boot. Some harrowing experiences but you get a great sense of security being in "The Formation" though. 10/10 will fly again!

We were Joined today by no other than =RT4=Sshadow14, Great to wing up with other bomber pilots and I'm going to call him the guru of the He-111. I learned a lot about the plane I didn't know. Thanks Shadow, It was great to meet and fly with you! Any bomber pilots that are looking for a good squad to fly with and learn from..we are hiring! The pay sucks and you have to fly a bunch of long sorties but that's what Heavy drivers do.
