Can I mix Steam purchases with direct store purchases?

Salute ladies and gents!

I have a question regarding Steam purchases. Can you mix and match purchases from Steam and directly from the store here? Or is it like Rise of Flight, where if you purchase content from the ROF store, you cannot add DLCs from Steam and vice versa?

Thanks!

Yes you can!

Additional content won't appear in your Steam inventory but it will show up in your game and on your IL-2 Sturmovik profile.

All of the content is already in your game. You're only purchasing access.

I do it - took me a while to figure out, since I am an idiot. :)

I use my Steam account as my primary game for it's easier updating functionality, but buy additional content in the store from time to time - making sure I am logged onto the store using the Steam account user name and log-on! (Since I also have the non-Steam version).

Activate the content in the store in the usual way. Re-start Steam to let it get up-to-date and start BoS in the normal way and your new planes etc will be there.

Thanks guys! Would it be possible for me to purchase a DLC from Steam and activate the code for my non-Steam version of BOS? I got a $20 Steam gift card for Christmas and that P-40 is lookin' mighty appealing!

I bought Il2 BoS from steam when it went on sale for the first time. But all the later content like BoM and BoK i bought through this website. They said it gets more % of the money directly to developers so i do that from now on.

Afraid not (Devs can correct me if that changed). As I understood, Steam has BOS as a game client and everything else is DLC.

In order to use any DLC on Steam, you have to own base game (in this case Steam version of BOS).

Other way around is possible. If you already own Steam BOS, you can buy and mix future purchases as you please, they will all unlock in Steam BOS game, but will not show up as purchased(owned) on Steam store.

Hope this helps.
